RSGB VHF Contests

All the RSGB VHF contests seem to have a three part exchange, consisting of: RS(T) + 3 Digit Serial Number + 6 digit locator.

Is there a recipe available that can handle this? I can’t seem to find one.

I thought I had done that many year ago, when we first started using Recipes. but I don’t see them in ?or on my Mac.
I do have a number of RSGB SSB HF recipes and their documentation, that are not in the Files section. But I?haven’t used them for some years, so not sure if the still work. What would you have me do with them Scott?

All,

My migration of the group from Yahoo to Groups.IO was possibly a little sloppy. I may have dropped a few things in the move. Perhaps this was one of them. If so, I'm very sorry.

David: If you have a recipe for this (or anything else that is not up on the Groups.IO site), please post it again! We all appreciate anyone who steps up and helps the community with new recipes!

Now is a good time for EVERYONE who has a recipe to make sure it appears on the website. I'm going to be pulling together a new release with EVERYTHING in the next week or so. That is, ALL recipes will be included by default in the new release.

Don't forget to make the little TextEdit file with instructions for how to use your new recipe. Setting up MacLoggerDX properly is an important step (and misconfiguring entries in your log leads to headaches). Take a moment to add your name and callsign to the recipe, too. It is nice to see who has contributed.

This is the season before contesting season, so it is a good time to get organized. Thank you for your help, David. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

Thank you, all, and 73!

Ok, working on getting the RSGB HF SSB contests onto the site. If people wish I’ll develop UKAC types etc. I have taken part in these, but never used CabConverter for them. I have 8 recipes to load altogether.

I used ‘Minos’ for V/UHF contests and it’s now available on Mac OS - sorry for competitive plug!

Colleagues,

I might need some help with this. The RSGB doesn't appear to be using straight Cabrillo (as though there were such a thing). They do have this:

Using the online submission forms, you can enter in everything you need for the contest. The logging is a little tedious (one QSO at a time), but you could get there in the end.

I've tried to figure this out, but it is late here on the East Coast of the US. I am going to need a little more time.

DOES ANYBODY HAVE A LOG (CABRILLO) FILE THAT HAS BEEN USED IN ONE OF THESE VHF CONTESTS?
If so, please send it to me : NE1RD --at-- A R R L --dot-- NET

I'll look at it again Thursday evening and Friday morning (I have Friday off work, thankfully).

Thanks for any help anybody can supply. 73!

So,?I have contacted my friend who knows about the RSGB contests and to quote:

On VHF it is vanishingly rare for people to need more than 3 figures for?serials!
And so far as I know we use genuine cabrillo format - however, on VHF and up?
the preferred entry format is Reg1Test.
I can see the uploaded logs, and they do include Cabrillo.

The comment about 3 figure serials is because the spacing by default allows for 5. And to be pedantic, it’s 6 alphanumeric characters for locator.

I don’t expect us to produce Reg1Test format (well not yet), since RSGB are still accepting Reg1Test
He is asking for a cabrillo log that was rejected by the Contest Robot so they can pursue that - anyone got one?

I will have a look that what I’ve done in the past, remind myself of the Recipe format and product recipes for the V/UHF contests.
However, I can’t do that within a couple of days, so that wont help for anyone who needs to submit a log within the next week.
I’ll get on with though.
