Taste Massage, Ignore 3
Tasting, tasting, one, two, three, tasting..... This has been a taste, _ONLY_ a taste, of the tastefully tasteful, xpresso boredcasting system. See, I told you to ignore it.....:-) (And it's all your fault, for not posting anything since September). :-)

Software program 4
A long time ago there was a software program that was written by a group member, that at that time was free, not sure now. I know he also had his own group for that program Anyway, I am trying to remember the name of it, and also where it can be obtained now? I still have an Emco Compact 5 that I need it for. Any help will be greatly appreciated. bill List Mom

Sherline spindle motor for sale
Hi, I have a Sherline spindle motor for sale. This set includes the motor, standard motor pulley, standard spindle pulley, the controller, mounting hardware/brackets (as pictured), and two belts. It’s seen very light use, maybe 50 hours, and is in very good shape. I’m converting my Lathe spindle to a NEMA34, 1850in-oz stepper. If any of you are interested, please make me a realistic offer. Please review the enclosed pics and feel free to ask questions. Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3 Sincerely, Andrey Lipavsky www.EssexJewelers.com

Linuxcnc 2.7 released 7
After many new features, much testing, and many bug fixes, I'm pleased to announce the release of LinuxCNC 2.7.0! This release is codenamed "I Kill Kokomo". The major new features since 2.6 are: * new trajectory planner (from Rob Ellenberg of Tormach) * support for RT-Preempt real-time (from Jeff Epler) * support for importing Mach3 configs via StepConf * better ARM support * better docs * many new drivers and features * bug fixes * probably other things that I've forgotten! Instructions on how to upgrade from 2.6 to 2.7.0 are here (note this may require manual changes to your config, detailed on this webpage): http://linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/getting-started/updating-linuxcnc.html Instructions on how to make a fresh install of 2.7.0 are here: http://linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/getting-started/getting-linuxcnc.html Many thanks to all the folks who worked hard to add features, fix bugs, write docs, run tests, and report how things were or weren't working. Here's to many more years of friendly, effective collaboration!

Dalhgren model 300Z spindle motor wiring
Does anyone have any information about the spindle motor wiring? . I have a neighbor that picked up one of these machines but there is no documentation with it. It has a 9 pin circular connector with all nine pins wired. There is no marking on the motor. Dan

Win 10 Preview on a Laptop with the ESS 2
2 out of 5 voices in my head :) told me to go for it. So load reluctantly loaded win 10 Preview on my laptop so I could access a flash program only in win 10 to flash the iso file of win 10 IOT build for a Raspberry Pi 2 onto a SD card. Installing win 10 on my quad core AMD A6 laptop went well. After flashing the SD card I decided to try and see if win 10 would work with the Ethernet Smooth Stepper ( ESS) and my G540 5 axis control unit. The laptop previously had win 8.1 and had run the ESS in the past. However, when I ran Mach3 I was surprised that the ESS plugin wasn't there. So I copied it from a pen drive and ran it. It installed fine. I also had to go into the control panel and setup the IP address of the ESS and the Mask. After that I had to enable the plugin by resetting the devices on loading mach3 and enabled it in the config plug. After restarting Mach3 the wonderful FPGA screen loaded and Mach3 came up but the screen was blank. I then clicked on View>Load Screens and selected a screen and loaded it. I bench ran all 5 motors and they seem to be normal in all respects. Now if I can get the Rasberry pi 2 to run mach3 that would be great. CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Rasberry Pi2 CNC. Thanks 3
That’s strange because win 10 on my laptop is 64 bits and run the ESS just fine. Dan

***SPAM*** Re: Rasberry Pi2 CNC. Thanks
I doubt very much that Mach3 would ever work on a RaspberryPi2 ... The driver is written in machine code and will only work with 32 bit versions of windows. Art says it's impossible to make it work on 64bit versions because of the changes to security, and the ARM port of windows has a different security model again, so even if the code can be ported, it may still not work, and Art has not made the code available for the driver. -- Lester Caine - G8HFL ----------------------------- Contact - http://lsces.co.uk/wiki/?page=contact L.S.Caine Electronic Services - http://lsces.co.uk EnquirySolve - http://enquirysolve.com/ Model Engineers Digital Workshop - http://medw.co.uk Rainbow Digital Media - http://rainbowdigitalmedia.co.uk

Rasberry Pi2 CNC. Thanks 11
Appreciate the Links Lester. Will set some time aside to research this. Yes, Agreed. I would place much more Value/Trust in Linux Distros than ANY Bug-Filled M.S. stuff. Maybe M.S. would go Open-Source?? not..... LOL! v wrote:

Rasberry Pi2 CNC? 3
My son asked for a rasberry pi2 credit card size PC for his birthday. While looking on Amazon I see where the CPU is a quad core 900 mHz and there is 1Gb of ram. Has any one looked at using one of these in a CNC application for mach3 ? I see that win10 is coming out with and OS for it. Dan Mauch

***SPAM*** Rasberry Pi2 CNC? 6
There have been a few attempts at LinuxCNC on the original Pi, and with the extra power of the Pi2 there should be even better latency. There are some nice breakout boards to ues witn the Pi Sent from my android device so quoting is crap ... need to kill these painful email clients!

Wiring a db9 conn to G540 3
I'm using 4 wire with a ground wire what pin does this fit. Best I can tell The bottom 4 pins are used for a and b wires. but the grounding shield wire I'm not sure . what pin I found a old drawing of the G540 showing pin 5 a rev 4 manual shows 2,3,4 as ground. this is the connector end to the G540. I'm using terminal block for the motor splicing. I just need to know what pin the grounding shield wire go's on and which end the g540 end or the motor end. I believe the grounding should be only on the G540 end but what pin# Thanks

STEPPER TO DRIVER WIRING 5
HI, I'VE GOT THIS STEPPER https://xa.yimg.com/df/bridgeport_mill/stepper+motor+cap.JPG?token=Ir7F03_we9tp9h_CJHHlgafGKcwzZqXiQrBuoh1rhglGGpXRkFgr5OCHQItoeeohe7qrclp3baxBjEMM5nx1ba2ZSOCZDyIXhDC2Uch4GH0nTrtY6M0Y5A&type=download WHICH I THINK ITS SUPERIOR 112... IT HAS 8 TERMINALS, AND 4 TERMINALS ARE CONECTED TO EACH OTHER, THATS TERMINAL 2 TO 6 AND 7 TO 8, SO IT GIVES AWAY 6 WIRES... I NEED TO WIRE IT UP WITH THIS CONTROLER: WHICH HAS 4 ENTRIES... SO OUT OF THOSE (8 TERMINALS / 6 WIRES) I NEED TO GET IT DOWN TO 4... http://www.omc-stepperonline.com/leadshine-dm2282-digital-stepper-driver-80230-vac-with-max-82a-p-79.html ANYONE KNOW HOW TO ACCOMPLISH THIS SIMPLE PROCEDURE? THANKS!

Bad Experience.....................Brian Fairey 2
I really hope you get this fast. I could not inform anyone about my trip, because it was impromptu. I had to be in Manila, Philippines for a program. The program was successful, but my journey has turned sour. I misplaced my wallet and cell phone on my way back to the hotel i lodge in after i went for sight seeing. The wallet contained all the valuables things i have. Now, my passport is in custody of the hotel management pending when i make payment. I am sorry if i am inconveniencing you, but i have only very few people to run to now. i will be indeed very grateful if i can get a loan of $2,550 USD from you. this will enable me sort our hotel bills and get my sorry self back home. I will really appreciate whatever you can afford in assisting me with. I promise to refund it in full as soon as I return. let me know if you can be of any assistance. Please, let me know soonest. Thanks so much.. Brian
