UPDATE - Easy CNC Guide Needed
Appreciate the input so far.
My OS is an XP3 32 bit ... I presume that the Fusion 360 will not work.
For example ... I came across some free G -Codes De Armond Tool has posted on his site, With instructions :) to give you an idea where I'm at, at this time. Very nicely done as need something like this .... step by step - hands on approach! Thank you for taking the time to assist with this matter as I have a long learning curve ahead,? PM? ?

My 2 cents.....Search for a program called CamBam...I think it's free, never used it but hear great things about it. I use high end SOLIDWORKS based cam packages at work so I don't have a need for something like this. Learn basic Gcode...Not that hard... you'd be surprised at what you can do with it If you want to design components then even a simple CAD package is almost essential. Search "Free CAD software". Quite a bit to choose from. Paul On Feb 4, 2017 8:59 AM, "pmark1@... [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO]" <CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO@...> wrote:

Fusion 360 is a no-go then.
I’d suggest SketchUp, but you can’t export files from the free version. www.tinkercad.com might work for you, they almost shut it down until AutoDesk gave them some cash. It’s geared towards 3D printing, but you can import/export .stl & dxf files that you can then convert to gcode with a CAM package, eg CamBam. Tony From: CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO@... Good point Paul .... I believe that mach 3 package came with a file called lazycam that may do the same thing, but I haven't the foggiest? Thanks for the note. PM |

开云体育Mark, I have been using CamBam for a few?months on my CNC machine. ?CamBam is an entry level CAD and CAM program.? It costs $149 dollars.? But, before you buy it you need to install it on your?computer to make sure it works as expected.?? They allow you to use the program 40 times.? The company has good?training videos on their website.

Try free, "librecad", or it's commercial version QCad. It works
on Linux, Mac, and Winders. I hear you can now get a CAM add on to their commercial version. No docs come with the free version, but lots of tutorials on youtube. Simplest, easy to use CAD package I've seen so far. Before I forget, it's 2.5-D. Bill On Sat, 5 Feb 2017, pmark1@... I'll second that - it's easy to use and effective. I also use DraftSight from Dassault Systemes which I run under Win7 64-bit. It's a professional system with a free version - like it lots.
