There have been a few attempts at LinuxCNC on the original Pi, and with the extra power of the Pi2 there should be even better latency. There are some nice breakout boards to ues witn the Pi

The BeagleBone has two additional CPUs specifically designed for real time speedup, and step generators have been implemented in them.? I sell a "cape" for the BeagleBone called the CRAMPS, that can mount up to 6 Pololu-style stepper driver modules plus other functions mostly aimed at 3D printers.? it makes a VERY small CNC control platform. I'll have one at the CNC Workshop in Detroit next week (although that won't do you much good in the UK). Jon |

Windows 10 for the Pi is a DOS interface only with no windows available.
