Commercial software

"Jon Pritchard" <[email protected]

I've been looking for "cheap end" software that I can retrofit an old
vertical CNC mill with. My problem is that I don't want it totally
canned so I cannot make changes. Also, it needs to have a PLC to
manage the toolchanger and gear changer on the mill.

I tripped over a website with a good looking software package:

Has anyone looked this software package over or tried it out?
Feedback or opinions would be most welcome!

Jon Pritchard.

I have Bestsoft PCNC dos. When I set it up a year ago I got great support
from Bill Best but over the last six months he hasn't returned my calls or
answered my email. I hope he's doing well.

I've been trying to get ahold of someone at Bestsoft for several days,
both leaving messages and email. A couple emails over the past several
months have gone unanswered. Is this outfit for real? Is this indicative
of the level of service customers can expect? Did they go fishing and
forget to change the message on their machine?
Is anyone running this software? If so, would very much like to hear
comments pro/con, and would like to know who's motion control board they
are using. I see reference to such a card, but they don't seem to list
it anywhere on their web site.

I too had trouble contacting Bestsoft. I actually did talk to them
once but I am leery of buying from someone who is not going to be able
to help if there are any problems.

I think you should send Bestsoft some e-mail and request a brochure. Let us
know how you make out!

He is in my neck of the woods. If you need to make contact with him for any
reason I would be happy to try and track him down. Aurora, CO is a suburb of
Denver.
