Re: Kellyware

Hi Jon,

I bought a copy of AutoCad Mechanical in 2000 and have used it for the last 20 years so I don't see any advantage to switching to Fusion 360.? Kellyware provided a CNC interface that provided the signal to the stepper drives through a USB connector.? It was (is) a pretty good piece of software so I am sorry to see it bite the dust.

Fusion 360 is by Autodesk, same people as Autocad.? You can import your old DXF files, or Mesh files? or SVG files if you like.??? Once you see how this works, you won't need Autocad , do your
CAD in Fusion 360 , switch to Manufacture and generate your Gcode.

One warning for Autocad.? They have a history of giving free licenses for non-commercial use, then
upgrading to a commercial program with an annual license fee.? If you don't pay, your old files
cannot be accessed.? They have done this a number of times.? So, that's why I won't use them.
I have some old legacy CAD programs, some that I paid serious money for, but at least the
license is perpetual.
