Club based email group?
2
Hi, I am the President of Foresters Camera Club. We have been using Google Groups as our group email software/app. It has been glitchy and inconsistent and many members find it difficult. I wonder if other clubs use group email apps to communicate to their members and which one they use. Actually, this system, "groups.io" comes up as a popular choice when I do a search. Do any clubs actually use 开云体育 to communicate with their members? If so, have you been satisfied? What other programs do groups use? Thanks for any feedback. Jim Shover jamesshover1@...

Fw: Rebekah Younger's Contemplative Photography Class
Good morning, This is Vanessa from Washington Park Camera Club (WPCC) with an exciting announcement. One of our members, Rebekah Younger, who is an author, artist, and educator, is offering a photography class that sounds very interesting. Below you will find information about her class, her contact information and a link to see some of her photographs. Please share with your club members. Thank you. Vanessa Thomas President, WPCC Seeing Fresh: Contemplative Photography led by Rebekah Younger – Thursdays, July 14 – August 11, 6 – 8 pm on Zoom with optional 1 hour group photo outings on the Sat. or Sun. between the classes to do the homework as arranged with those who register for the course. The Zoom sessions will include exercises, introduction to the practice with sample images for each week’s content and review of student images. Clarity of perception leads to clarity of communication. This is something that photographers like Cartier-Bresson, Ansel Adams and Minor White all understood. It starts with clearing your mind of preconceived ideas to see the world with fresh eyes. Contemplation is a way to open to the world as it is, ordinary and magical at the same time. Each week we will work with an aspect of visual perception; color, texture, form, light, and space as our subject. Whether photography is your hobby, art media or a starting point for creating in other media, this class will change the way you see the world. Cost: $150. per person To register: Email me and I will send you my payment information. If you have questions call me at: 207-751-3044 To learn more about my approach to contemplative photography and see some of my photographs go to: https://rebekahyounger.com/tag/contemplative-photography/ Rebekah Younger Author, artist and educator “Your life is a creation: a personal work of art. Posting of images on Internet
2
Can other clubs share their policies/ protocol re posting members images on Facebook, websites, Instagram, etc.? I know most if not all clubs post members' photos. Do some members request their images NOT be posted due to copyright or other concerns? Do some clubs honor those requests or possibly have a policy that says all images will be available to post and deny such requests? Is there a consensus of opinion that all images are protected by copyright and that concerns are not valid? Are there references that define the copyright laws in these situations? This may be an old question that's been answered in the past. Thanks for any feedback. Jim Shover, President, Foresters Camera Club

Posting recordings of Zoom presentations
8
Monday evening I attended a terrific Zoom based presentation put on by the Riverwoods Nature club on B&W photography by an outside speaker. They noted in their invite that a recording of the program would be available. Last night, we in the Foresters club had Bob Benson give a terrific, updated presentation on, "Becoming a Better Judge". We had 50 CACCA members login to watch! We recorded this and it is now available to share. How would it be if CACCA set up a "Video Library" page on the website where clubs could submit their recordings and all members could access them? I am not sure how permissions, access or sharing works or how we'd control those but I assume whoever runs the website knows these things. If there is a specific "web master" that I could contact, let me know. Thanks, Jim Shover 708-228-2897

Guidelines for rejecting inappropriate images
2
Hi, I am the new President of Foresters Camera Club. This may be an old topic that I have not been aware of in the past. Are there any guidelines, defined by CACCA, on when, and under what conditions, a club can and should reject an image submitted by a member for competition, that could be offensive or inappropriate? Clearly, graphic images of sexual situations, violence, profanity, racism, homophobia, or even some nudity, are easier to judge as unacceptable. But, more subtle or obscure subject matters could be less obviously offense to some members or the membership in general. Are there any guidelines posted on the CACCA website or other forms that give guidance on this gray topic? I know that Art vs Obscenity is a long standing debate in the Art world. Any advice or historical reference would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim Shover

Camera Club Liability Policy
4
Hello, I am glad to be part of this group. Thanks for creating it. I am President of the Mayslake Nature Study & Photography Club and I have a question about what other clubs are doing about liability insurance for members, if anything. Since we meet at The Forest Preserve of DuPage County (FPDDC) Mayslake Peabody Estate our club is required by FPDDC to have liability insurance. I was wondering if any other clubs or CACCA have liability insurance and if so, who is it with and how much is the annual premium. Our liability insurance is with Liberty Mutual and we pay $326/year for 55 members.
