Re: Mars - 12-10-20
Jason, I believe I purchased it through OPT. It is a small Barlow type lens that screws directly into the camera to give me what I have found to be a desirable f/16.8 f ratio given the small pixels on

Mars - 12-29-20
I had very good seeing last night and was still able to resolve quite a bit of detail: Through My Looking Glass, Astrophotography by Brian Combs (bcastropics.com) (

Re: Mars - 12-10-20
Thanks Ken! I use a C14 with a ZWO ASI290M camera. I also have attached to the camera a 1.25X Vernonscope, which gives me an F ratio of f/16.8. Sent: Monday, December 28, 2020 2:13 PM To:

Mars - 12-10-20
I had very good seeing the other night and resolved a lot more detail than I thought possible considering the size: 2020-12-10-0211_0-L-RGB10-set_full.jpg (817¡Á817) (bcastropics.com) (

Re: C14 Edge optics?
Hi Bob I'm also intrigued how you managed to get your native f11 scope down to a f5?Unless you used a Starizona Night Owl reducer which can only be used with small sized sensors? Regards Mark

Re: C14 Edge optics?
Bob, please explain how you reach f/5 with a C14.? The Celestron focal reducers I have used have been either 0.63 or 0.7

Re: C14 Edge optics?
Hi Mike, When I collimate my C14, I start with the image well out of focus. I then use the secondary to put the shadow in the center of the image. If it already looks centered, don¡¯t believe it!

Re: C14 Edge optics?
Had a Meade re-tubed with the same problems so I took it back. The third set of optics are amazingly sharp. Had to really insist something was wrong but they did finally take care of it.

Re: C14 Edge optics?
Thanks for the input. I have several very good telescopes, the C14 was supposed to be just a visual poke around unit. I have a pretty good idea and a lot of experience as to what constitutes good

Re: Mars - 10-08-20
Hi Brian, A really nice Mars image. I use my C14 for galaxy imaging using a 0.8x focal reducer. I'd like to do some planetary stuff and just wondered what kit you have attached to get your scope to be

Re: C14 Edge optics?
HI Mike our club has a C-14 as well. We were concerned about cool down and have a cat cooler, and internal fans. We just installed vent fans in the obs (have a roll off roof) and have not had a chance

Thanks Paul. I use a 1.25x Vernonscope, which screws on directly to the camera. Otherwise I use no other magnification.

C14 Edge optics?
So have a question, in general. What have folks found about the optical quality of the C14 Edge scopes? I had one that had what looked like astigmatism. The dealer tested it and it was sent back to
