Thanks Bob,

I used a Basler 1920-155 camera with an Astrophysics 2x Barlow lens. The focal length is about 10 m.

Thanks Frank!

Re: C14 Edge HD

Hi Frank,

Yes, the Homeyer cradle has felt lining the cradle supports.

C14 Edge HD

Hello,? I'm in the process of reverse engineering a Homeyer Cradle.? I'm looking for a couple of dimensions on the C14 Edge HD optical tube.
1.? diameter of the optical tube (not the end castings.
2.? inboard distance between the end castings.

For anyone who reads this post who has a Homeyer Cradle, is there a thin layer of felt on the cradle where the tube rests?

Many thanks,? Frank

Re: Curvature of the most recent C14 Edge HD castings

Hello

I just read this thread for the first time.? Has this issue been resolved?
If the curvature is truly compound as the original poster has suggested, using a conventional radius block might not be wise. Tightening down the fastener which held the radius block to the compound curvature of the casting would stress the fastener.? The radius blocks would be forced out of alignment.? The results would be unacceptable and probably just as bad as the cheap orange aluminum extrusion dovetail bar supplied with the OTA.

Best solution in my opinion would be rings and the best rings are Paramount, without a doubt.

Regards,

Frank
