Remarks: Unit 4006 originally built 1949 for Montreal-Vermont freight
service.
"Gull" from Boston(Boston & Maine-Maine Central-CPR to downtown Saint
John:
Power-Maine Central EMD E-7 unit 711 runthrough power either from
Boston, or put on at Portland, Maine.
CP train crews take over at Vanceboro, Maine.
Yard power observed either at Bay Shore Yard, West St. John, West St.
John Ocean Terminals, downtown Saint John, or old Lancaster Yard:
0-8-0 6932, 2-8-0's 3624, 3637, 3641, 3748, 3692, 3700, 3719, 3725,
3736, 3752, 2-10-0's yard or transfers 5754, 5755. Yard diesels-Alco's

Some power observed at Bay Shore Roundhouse:
4-6-0's 453, 490, light 4-6-2 2657, 2-8-2's 5107, 5206, 5361,
semi-streamlined 5422, as well as power that came off eastbound

Boston Maine Central EMD E-7 711.
Canadian Pacific Steamships-Trans-Atlantic Service:
Canadian Pacific Steamships makes its Winter terminus at West St. John,
New Brunswick from November to April of each year with its
Trans-Atlantic "White Empress" passenger liners operating from
Liverpool, England, its cargo-express-passenger "Beaver" ships the
"Beaverburn"(2nd), "Beaverford"(2nd), "Beaverlodge", the Immigrant ship
"Beaverbrae"(2nd) and cargo-express ships the "Beavercove", Beaverlake",
"Beaverdell", and "Beaverglen", plus chartered ships flying the CPS
house flag and in CPS paint scheme. The Beaverburn, Beaverford, and
Beaverlodge which also carry passengers operate from Liverpool, the
immigrant ship Beaverbrae of Continental Europe, the cargo-express
"Beavers", the Beavercove, Beaverdell, Beaverlake, and Beaverglen
operate from London, Antwerp and other Continental Europe ports to West
St. John during the Winter months.
