At station: SD40-2 5552
Eastbound Via/CP "Canadian" while passing through Pitt Meadows "Bomb
Scare", train backed about 3 miles back to Port Coquitlam station.
Departed eastbound again running three hours late.

Switchinng westend of yard SW1200RS 1239. Unit belongs downtown
Vancouver.
February 22, 1986
Via/CP "Canadian" westbound running late at 1440 to Vancouver-CP SD40-2
5600 series-Via FP-9 6306-Via FP9-B 6600 series. Total 12 cars.
February 26, 1986
New Westminster
Transfer from Richmond enroute to Port Coquitlam(0545) GP-38 3004-GP-9
8600 series.

Westend of yard: SD40-2 5647 with Expo 86 colors.
Vancouver International Airport.
2150-Canadian Pacific Airlines DC-10 wide-body Jumbo-Jet Empress fleet
number #908 "Empress of Rome" in new CPA paint scheme( fleet being
repainted from CP Air to Canadian Pacific Airlines. This was an
eastbound overnight flight to Toronto.

GP38-2 3118 outbound transfer southwest Westminster sub-division to
Sapperton and New Westminster. (3118 new here)
2045-Transfer from Sapperton off Westminster sub-division SD40-2's
6010-5653 in consist BC Rail forest product cars for destinations across
Canada and U.S.A. Remarks: SD40-2 5653 equipped for service on CP U.S.
Lines.
Westend yard engine GP-9 1589.
New Westminster- July 4, 1986
GP-9 yard engine (CP) 1579 outside BC Hydro Railway's diesel shop-having
work done, presume in for wheel work.
July 5, 1986
Called for 1200 eastbound departure-SD40-2 5591-Ex CPR G-5 modern light
4-6-2 1201 and its passenger consist deadhead back to Ottawa. 4-6-2 1201
under its own steam assisted by SD40-2 5591. 1201's crew and ontrain
crew over to my house earlier visiting. "The whistle and bell on 1201
brought back many memories".
August 2, 1986
Same location
Via/CP "Canadian" from east to Vancouver running late-1220 hours. CP
SD40-2 5923-Via FP9-A-Via FP-9B-Via FP9-B.
Total 20 cars.
August 4, 1986-GP-38 3004 newly outshopped.

What an excellent post! Let's all give Donald a big thank you and a pat on the
back for sending such fine posts for everyone's benefit. They represent a moment
in history. Going back as recently as 1986, one can certainly see how things have
changed on CP Rail (CPR today).

Keep it up Donald. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that your posts are
always very interesting and useful.

Hey guys!

Something I just noticed - look at that consist! Four consecutive numbers as the
exclusive consist of locomotives on the train!

I don't think that has happened very often in our history, gentlemen. Any other
recorded occurences? Even 3 in a row are against the odds in probability!

Time marches on, but history is our guide.
