C-P-R
/g/C-P-R
C-P-R is specifically for discussion of topics pertaining to the Canadian Pacific Railway.
Our main areas (as they pertain to CPR) are railroading and railfanning, with some modelling discussion thrown into the mix. Items for sale/trade may be posted on Tuesdays only. If you post a virus warning, missing child sob story, or any other SPAM, you are probably going to get the boot from this list. Lots of children go missing every year and how many are found by foamers ?? Attachments are not permitted and new members are set to moderated status by default to eliminate SPAM messages. This will be reset to "use group policy" (un-moderated) when we have determined you deserve it, though we may need to be reminded. If you are a lurker, there is no need to change it and you probably don't care anyway.
To enable members to filter out certain types of discussions, modelling topics must be prefixed with MODEL: in the subject line, and sighting reports/railfan trip reports must be prefixed with OS: in the subject line. If there is something special running that members might still be able to see or photograph, please put HOT: at the front of the subject line.

Re: CPKC sells Panama Interest

<div>
<div>Certainly an ironic and intriguing acquisition for Maersk (a Danish company) given the Trumpian interest in both the Panama Canal and Greenland. Of course this sale has likely been in the works for months if not years and precedes Trump’s electioneering and sabre rattling but it might be a useful bargaining chip down the road.</div>

Rolphton Ontario Question
/g/C-P-R/message/67751
<p>I was snowmobiling in the Rolphton area yesterday. The OFSC uses an Ontario Power Generation road to connect the main trail that uses the former CPR railbed, with the village. It may just be me, but the way this road was built, it seems similar to how a railway would be. Was there a spur to the hydroelectric dam project when it was being constructed?</p><p>Â </p><p>Kris Roenigk</p><p>Apsley, Ontario</p>

<div>This explains why I couldn't find any information on CPAA 206033, 206057, and 206084. I expect these are "fake" road numbers. I admit that I purchased these Athearn cars mainly for the Procor blue colour to add some variety to my manifests and it looks like I will have to live with the knowledge that they do not fit the prototype.</div>
<div>Â </div>

<div>John, </div>
<div>Â </div>
<div>CPAA 207500-207614 were built by Pacific Car and Foundry in 1976. They were transfered to BC Hydro in 1978 and re-numbered BCH 7500-7614</div>
<div>Â </div>
<div>Unsure what they were used for, but the CPAA marks signify a car in international service. I would venture a guess they were in assigned service to a mill in BC.</div>
<div>Â </div>
<div>For the rivet counters among us, the PC&F cars are quite different to the FMC cars represented by the Athearn model. Note the ends, roof, sides. </div>
