Winnipeg, Chicago, Detroit & Pt. Huron

开云体育

With self isolation and lots of free time, I thought I'd determine the
routing from Winnipeg to Chicago, Detroit and Pt. Huron (Sarnia)
From Winnipeg the subs. are:
Sprague to Rainy River
Ft. Frances to Duluth Jctn, Wisconsin
Rainy to Nopeming Jctn
Superior to Hoover
Neenah to Fond du Lac
Waukesha to Leithton, Illinois
At this junction trains would turn onto the former Elgin, Joliet and
Eastern trackage to swing around Chicago.
The trackage passes thru Joliet yard, an intermodal facility, via the
Leithton Sub. and continues on via the Matteson Sub. At Matteson there
is a junction with the Chicago Sub. which is the routing to New Orleans.
The Chicago Sub. timetable refers to the junction as Swede.
7 miles east, towards downtown Chicago, is the former I. C yard, Gateway
Terminal, with trackage for intermodal traffic.
Trains can continue on the Matteson Sub. to Griffith with a junction for the
South Bend Sub. to Battle Creek or continue on the Matteson Sub to Kirk Yard.
Kirk Yard appears to be the same routing in and out and trains go back to Griffith
to go north or east.? The South Bend Sub. connects with the Flint Sub. at Battle
Creek then on to Tappan in Port Huron connecting with the Strathroy Sub.
At Durand on the Holly Sub. is a junction for traffic going to Detroit, Flat Rock Yd.
or Toledo.
Questions: At which intermodal yard in Chicago do trains 148/149 use?
Does CN switch at the Blue Island yard in Chicago. Many years go GTW was active in
the Blue Island yard.
Do intermodals to/from Winnipeg use the same yard as 148/149?
Where is the intermodal yard in Detroit that a few trains use?
Any corrections, updates or more information is appreciated.
This information taken from CTG 2018, CN website and Google Maps.

Thought I heard RTC say Track 3 to Snake then to Track 2 for 394 which means at Bayview going from

work is being done on Track 2 from Bayview (36.9) to Snake (36.3) of the Oakville Sub.
