Todays 570 was a duplicate of yesterdays:2254-ES44DC; 2166-Dash8-40CW ex: BNSF
and 8830-SD70M-2.? 108 cars with 27 short covered hoppers, 17 autoracks, 4 cars of vehicle frames and the rest mixed.? Thru Burlington West at 10:55A after work at Aldershot. X422 did work in Hamilton's Stuart yard and then proceeded to Aldershot, arriving at 11:25A to set off 5 cars and 5640-SD75I. No lifts.? Remaining headend power was 3905-ES44AC and 2457-Dash8-40CW ex: LMS 730. Originates in Port Robinson. 394 rolled by at 11:35A with 2898-ES44AC and UP8209-ES44AC and mid-train power 2859-ES44AC. Thru-out the consist was approximately 91 tank cars. Consist originates in Kirk Yard, IN. Thought I heard RTC say Track 3 to Snake then to Track 2 for 394 which means at Bayview going from the south track of the Dundas Sub. thru the turnouts at Bayview to Track 3. Doesn't make sense unless work is being done on Track 2 from Bayview (36.9) to Snake (36.3) of the Oakville Sub. Doug Renshaw Burlington, ON. |

11:20A today.? Mixed freight. Only 570 I show in my CTG from 2018 are locals but nothing for Ontario. Anyone know if 570 originates in Buffalo, Flat Rock or Toledo? Seems it's fairly regular. Thanks Doug Renshaw Burlington, ON. |

March 6, 1834 The London & Gore Railroad in Upper Canada receives its charter; the first railroad charter in what is now Ontario. Running between Niagara Falls and Windsor, it will be later part of the Great Western, Grand Trunk and Canadian National Railways. ? March 8, 1855 The first train crosses the suspension bridge over Niagara Falls. Before this time, goods and passengers were ferried across the river. The bridge does not end the transfer, as the change in track gauge between lines in New York and Ontario remains, although the bridge itself has three gauges (56.5", 66" and 72"). The Bridge will allow the Michigan Central via the Great Western to reach markets in the east and will be a major selling point for the line. (Some sources say March 17) ? March 8, 1926 The Illinois Central installs the first electro-pneumatic car retarders in the United States at Markham Yard near Chicago. ? |

Eastbound thru Burlington West

At 10:15A this date a eastbound with units: Ex BCR 4625, 21XX a former BNSF Dash 8-40CW?
and 2411 a Dash 8-40CM with many tank cars and 8-10 CTW parts cars. Can anyone provide the consist number? Being a bit sarcastic, 422 had the set off of parts cars and intermodals at the head end of the consist today. Usually it's 40 or 50 cars back necessitating a long pull to get a light into the yard and possibily a warrant thru Burlington West to Tansley. 570 was also in Aldershot yard coming from whereever??
