Re: OT Maybe? Hand cleaners
For years I used Goop as it does not contain any abrasives leaving my skin less chapped. It's a product made by Critzas Industries in St. Louis, MO. For a while it was hard to find until Harbor Freight started carrying it again. You start it out without water just rubbing your your hands and once it gets runny with grime it's easy to rinse off. For years my favorite pumice based hand cleaner was Lava which I used for any remaining post Goop hard to remove stains on my skin. It is almost impossible to find any more, at least for reasonable cost. It used to be made by Lever Bros but since some other manufacturer took over and jacked up the cost. Fast Orange is effective for cleaning hands but the abrasive is very coarse, almost sand like so I only use it when my hands are extremely grungy.

开云体育In a pinch use clean motor oil. ?Follow up with clean rag then regular soap and water. ? ?I’m sure it’s toxic and whatnot but it sure works good. ?Glycerin hand lotion works also. ??? |

开云体育Zep "Cherry Bomb" is my current favorite.?? Use it like a waterless hand cleaner, and then rinse it off. If you wet your hands first, it doesn't stick well enough, and most of it just goes down the sink.? Smells nice, and seems to really get the grease out of the pores. I don't tend to like waterless cleaners - they leave a strong chemical smell behind.? ? -Tom ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Nick Andrews ? A while back, okay almost 20 years ago, a friend worked at Jorgenson Steel in Denver.? You know how that mill oil on steel is...?? He and I and a roommate started a floor cleaning business and did the floors there at night.? They had a hand cleaner in the locker rooms that from what I recall was a green powder, not a liquid, and it worked with or without water and did not leave your hands slippery, greasy or stinky at all.? I'd forgotten about it until recently and cannot recall the name but it was amazing.? Anyone have any ideas on what it might be and if it's even still made?? It was not a typical household brand, more like an industrial supply type product you'd never see on a store shelf. ? I see Mean Green that looks like a crumbly paste, but it looks different.? Yeah, have used what we call Agent Orange for years and years.? It works well but I was looking for the other product.? I did buy some stuff at O'Reillys called Joe's that also works very well and can be used without water. On Fri, Mar 10, 2023 at 9:46?AM Tim Boan <tcboan@...> wrote:

The Greenclean looks very similar to what I remember (for whatever that's worth) and I ordered their sample pack of the three products to try.? Shipping was more than the $12 sample pack!? Once I get my work area slab in front of the shed/shop done and a roof over it, I am looking at installing a laundry sink out there anyway.? Already ran pex partway over there. Green Clean is the name of a face cream but if you type in Green Clean MP7 you get a link to handcleanexpress.com.? The downside is 21 pounds of it is $345.00!? (About $16.00 a pound) But they will sell you a sample for only $5.00. I use Boraxo Powdered Hand Soap but that does require water. John Cooper |

开云体育I believe it was called MP7. I think they changed the name to Green Clean.
Hope this helps.

Re: power feed 6f
Thanks very much Clive. I have been trying to figure out why my erskine unit smoked and died, thought it might have been the motor jamming. My y axis will move even after engaging the power feed but the x axis just locks up.

Re: power feed 6f
Yes if its a free-wheeling handle in working order.
No if a fixed handle has been fitted or if the free-wheeling mechanics has jammed. With the free-wheeling type the handgrip part has to be twisted to drive a plunger down the cross bar to engage in one of several drilled holes in the collar that drives the feedscrew. The internal end of the handgrip is D shaped so it operated like a crude cam when twisted. On an older machine the drilled holes in the collar and the end of the plunger can be in a very sorry state so it gets awkward to persuade things to engage and stay engaged. The plunger can seize up too. Either in the engaged poistion, so the machine can at least be used, or in the free wheeling poistion where it can’t. Stripping a seized system in a right palaver. Close study of the parts diagram is essential to figure out how it all comes apart. Identify the free-wheeling variety by the push in chrome cap on the handgrip end of the cross bar through which the return spring and plunger are assembled. Clive |

Hi Brod
All the diagrams and other data I have are in the files section. Erskine drive folder. A Google search for Erskine power feed board you will find a number of decent pictures of various versions of the board including a higher resolution copy of the one I offered to send you. So probably best to get it on-line. But I can send my copy privately Regrettably there seems to be no more data out in the wild. Clive |

FS: Baldor Motor and TECO drive combo for your shop
开云体育All ? I posted this on the South Bend Lathe group too, but FYI: ? For someone that needs a good variable speed, reversable setup, I am offering a Baldor IDXM7006 inverter duty ? HP motor and TECO Westinghouse L510-101-H1-U Variable Frequency Drive for sale.? See attached pictures. ? The motor is ?230/460V 3 phase, frame 56C, “explosion proof”, ball bearing, 1735RPM at 60Hz, made in USA and is used but excellent shape.? There are minor scratches and scuffs on the paint, no dings or dents.? This was used to run a small pump in a lab. ? The inverter is 110v input, ? HP, again in excellent condition – I would say it almost looks new.? I do not have the manual, but it is available online from numerous sources on the web. ? I purchased both of these for my employer, so I know their history of very light use.? When they no longer were needed, I was able to save them from the junk pile.? I was planning to use the combo in my shop but they have sat for a couple of years, and I need to reclaim some space.? I am offering the combo to this group first for a price of $300.? I am located in central NJ and would prefer to not have to ship, as the motor weighs 39 lbs, but will ship via UPS if you are willing to pay the actual cost which I think could be around $100 depending on distance.? I’ll give first priority to local pickup, but if I get no takers, I will keep your info and sell to the first person who needs shipping. ? Thanks for looking and very best ? John ? |
