When polarity is correct current flows through the fuse and switch then through the horizontal diode to the relay coil. The relay closes applying power to the uBITX. If the polarity were to be reversed no current would flow through the horizontal diode and the relay coil would receive no current The uBITX will receive no power. An LED and third diode could be used as a reverse polarity indicator.
