(which reminds me of the joke about the mechanic who chastises the surgeon for his high prices, pointing out that he, too, works on complicated engines and diagnoses and fixes all kinds of problems like broken pushrods, valves that need grinding, etc -- to which the surgeon agrees with the skill of the mechanic but then simply asks,? "Can you fix the engine WHILE IT IS STILL RUNNING?" )

so my usual reply is just to encourage the person upset about the profit, is to say,? "Why don't you yourself go BUY [a portion of] the Company, so YOU would be receiving that profit and thus able to easily afford their product?

In this case, ADI was selling for only about $30 / share back in 2010.? ?If you have put $300 into buying a tiny portion of that company, right now you would be sitting on somewhere north of $2,300 -- and thus EASILY able to purchase one or more of their transceiver-on-a-chip, which on Mouser is going for $377 in quantities of single digits (due to a little inflation, likely due to a bit of money-printing (only a few Trillion) by the U.S. government) ?

So there are ways to deal with such corporations.? ?But just like THEY had to take a risk to produce that product, YOU have to take the risk of picking which corporation to purchase.? ?many go out of business every year.? ?There is no free lunch!? They worked hard to make that profit!
