What LOG program should we use for sBitx?
The answer is not simple, and neither is the solution.
You have to decide whether to use it only as a second or third device, or if it will be placed first in the queue.
Do you want to use it for competitions or is one or two qso's a day enough - for whatever reason it happens.
Since it is not easy to get either the daily or the competition LOG program, because the RPi4 7" 800x480 screen sets limits.
That's why I searched among the existing programs.
Yesterday was a day without my grandchildren, so I used TLF (you won't believe that what does the name mean: Try Left Foot)
I installed a competition program that was made for cw, ssb and digital competitions.
Only try it if you have a backup of your installed and working system, so that you can restore the previous one in the event of a faulty installation.
Important: do not want to install the latest program!
The tlf-1.3.2 version works for us, the installation steps are on github.
If you want the colors to be displayed correctly, install the terminal program called Console and load it with that. I have tried all of these.
If you just want to try it out of curiosity, expect that there will be more pitfalls, so don't try without the necessary computer knowledge.
I'm just saying that I didn't try any further because I don't know how the device and the program can communicate with each other.
I experienced a lot of things. What I gleaned from these is that if you have a well-functioning hardware, time passes quickly over the software created for it.
If you always follow the new, the old will be forgotten and you will have a pile of tools that you had plans with and never managed to finish.
So we are always faced with a decision about what we want.
I think that if the knowledge of the team is combined, then it will be possible to recall that, yes, this was a very good device.
