V6 Baofang Mic Replacement

 

Does anyone have a simple swap out replacement microphone recommendation for the Baofang mic shipped with v6 that they have used and can confirm solves the Baofang mic problem of muffled limited high end frequency response ?Doing surgery on the shipped baofang mic As discussed is other posts on this subject is difficult for many hams. ?thanks
 


James -- there many mic recommendations.? ? I blindly followed my (really smart) good friend's advice from Dean, KK4DAS.? Buy a Uniden CB mic on Amazon.? If you hack wire it like I did, you will be immediately mocked by your friends. Fair warning. The right way is to add a panel mount mic jack.

But I'd rather make coffee and enjoy the morning.?

I would just buy a good quality mic electret element and fit it into the Baofeng case you already have.

I used the 10mm electrets from amazon and soldered them in the mic. The mic element in yhe baofeng is 6mm. You will have to modify the mic enclosesure for it to fit. I mounted mine to were the mic element comes to outside of the case flush. Definetly made a big improvement. I¡¯ll post a pic if i can figure out how.?
 

The electrets were like 6$ on amazon for 20.?
