ubitx v6 board only
hello to the group.? KD0DAM here. General class ticket holder since 2008.? ? i just finished testing my ubitx v6 and its not working well.? so far I have tried receive only.? ? I desoldered the BNC for the antenna and soldered the coax (50 ohm rg8) to the board.? I used a 14v 5amp switching pwr supply.? ?I am hooked to a 40m folded dipole at 30 ft.? I spun thru the bands and all I got was audio tones 80 thru 10.? Some sounded like possibly SSTV,? most seemed to be approx. 1000hz.,? on 80 and 40 this tone was very strong in some spots.? ?Has my arduino gone out, or what?? ?Thought I would put this before the group...Seems like a lot of experience and knowledge in this group.??

Almost all receiver problems with the uBITX line of radios from HF Signals are solved by following the attached link:
The above is from Ashhar Farhan, the lead developer for HF Signals, as well as one of the founders. The most critical is the BFO adjustment, as that impacts receiver sensitivity. I hope this helps. 73 Evan AC9TU |

Evan likely nailed it with the need to calibrate the BFO - most of our ubtix units have been delivered it seems with the BFO way off.? This alignment is essential.? The power supply has us a bit concerned - if you have another 12-13.8 volt power supply around (or even something like a medium sized gel cell battery) that might be much cleaner than an unknown switching power supply (such as made for PC use).? Be patient to unravel your ubitx - its an amazing rig.? Your v6 actually requires less patience than our older models - but the BFO alignment matters a lot.? Curt |

Curt try setting your bfo to 11.056 and zerobeat your frequency to web. 73 Jim/ki0ad On Fri, 17 Apr 2020, 7:00 p.m. Curt via , <wb8yyy=[email protected]> wrote: Doug |
in fact as far as bfo alignment is concerned, it is simpler than v5 . ?we can pre load 11.0555 and then try adjusting calibration using any known signal? All the best of World Amateur day 2020 sarma vu3zmv On Sat, Apr 18, 2020 at 8:05 AM James George <ki0ad2@...> wrote:

My V6 project is on hold for the moment but it was my understanding that the V6 BFO was pretty well set from the go.? I did try to set it once but I couldn't get my laptop to respond.? will be back to work on it in a couple weeks, then we'll see.? Still waiting for my case to arrive from China.....

Most (though not all) laptop 3.5 mm jacks are TRRS with the Tip and ring closest to the time being L and R audio out, the ring closest to the Sleeve is Ground, and the Sleeve is the Mic input.? I always thought this strange, though it does ensure that a the mic input tends to be shorted when a standard TRS is inserted.
