I suppose, such overlay has never been published by Ashar farhan vu2ese

Dear OM Sharmaji, ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Thanks for your reply. Yes, Farhan has not published the PCB overlay. It's difficult to find the tracks in a SMD populated board. If you are using it, can you tell me how the audio IC 's pin 2( VCC) is connected to 12 V on the PCB? ARNAB SEN ( VU2CMV ) 6/35 JM SENGUPTA ROAD. B-ZONE. DURGAPUR-713205. MOB:9434833047

Arnab jee, ?i understand your issue. Last time some one manipulated the TDA2822 adopting 7806 regulator. ?Perhaps in files ot photos section you find the details of back plane as I saw the regulator was mounted on reverse. ?The power line leading to pin2 is entering up to middle of chip on bottom side and with a through hole, it is to top layer and reaching pin 2
i shall also search and link the photos for your need. ?regards sarma vu3zmv

Dear OM Sharmaji, ? ? ? ? ? Thanks for your reply and help. In uBitx.net website , using a 9v regulator to supply to 2822 has appeared. Thinking to do that. Also can divert the audio to a LM386 or PAM module.? Thanks and regards ARNAB SEN ( VU2CMV ) 6/35 JM SENGUPTA ROAD. B-ZONE. DURGAPUR-713205. MOB:9434833047

Arnab jee, ?Yourself? have rightly pointed to this link.
?In my opinion? there is no need to swap to LM386. The regulator mod could well be seen. ?Another issue troubling tda2822 was plugging a MONO headphone into audio jack while the set is ON. this causes shorting of output to ground on the ring connection of the audio jack. once you remove the TDA2822 for a possible socket, you could trace all the connections. The designer might have his? own issues to upload the artwork.
We only need to
1. Isolate the sleeve pin of thew audio jack not to short to ground on the metal body of enclosure. ?We can add a resistor in the sleeve path.that works as series resistor for the head phones .It really helps protecting one's' own ears.
?Once i had given that mod . it might be some where on the files section.
?2. lowering the supply to TDA chip by adopting a regulator.

I would recommend putting the voltage regulator in the supply line to the TDA2822.? I did that before applying power to my kit and have not had a problem since then.? I have very high volume levels if I need them.? The TDA2822 is a good amp when supplied this way. I have also put a mod in to minimize the click and pop produced between transmitting and receiving, and an AGC circuit with RF gain attenuation control that has been a great help.? To my ears the receiver is very acceptable now.?? 73, Dan, W2DLC
Here is the link to that regulator mod: /g/BITX20/message/44099
