It has been more than a decade since the BITX20 was first built. In these years, we have had many ideas knocking around. After looking hard at these, it became evident to me that a full reboot of the bitx series was needed to incorporate these.
Raduino has been a game changer in many ways. It would have been unimaginable even a few years ago that for a dollar, you would be able to buy a single chip with three clock outputs for less than a dollar.
Anyway, here is the new uBITX (I pronounce it as microBITX). I hope you all find it interesting. Unlike the Minima this is full tested and ready to be built.?

There is no kit for it. As usual, the circuit is free for you to build, write about, forward and publish it wherever. However, commercial production of PCBs and kits is prohibited for now.?
Will HFsigs kit it? I am not sure. They are already swamped with a backlog of the bitx40 orders. I will have a conversation with the team and ask them about it.
It goes without saying that without the help of so many of you this rig would never been possible. It is a joint effort of several people who have been helping along with things big and small.? Curiously, this rig derived much of its theory from an older text : Introduction to RF Design by Hayward. Hence, you will see it in the pictures of the rig too.?

Craig,
the ubitx has no critically tuned filters, etc. if could be built without a scope. I would guess, one module at a time....

Beautiful! What an elegant design. Thank you Farhan. Now I face a difficult decision - modify my existing rig (which is built with TIAs) or start from scratch. Either way I can't wait to get started.

That's awesome, Ashar! Is there any chance you could post an Eagle PCB file in the not-too-distant future, so that anyone who wants to build one from scratch can make their own PCB?

I just downloaded and did a quick review of the ubitx schematic. What an interesting design! Next week I will start putting together my recently arrived bitx40 and I am looking forward to working on it. But to be honest, what I really want now to do is build a ubitx from scratch. As an old engineer (though new ham) I haven't been this charged up about a new project in a long time. Thank you and 73 bill

well, it was a character set issue, i was using UTF-8 encoding while pretending it to be plain ASCII text. I have replaced the inverted opening and closing comma with simple comma. hope it renders better now.

What Bill said. I haven't had this much fun for decades, between Jack Purdum's and Ashar Farhan's designs. On another note, what do y'all think about JYE Tech's DSO138 as a tool for HF stuff? Is it worth trying, and / or should I start shopping for parts for Ashar's Sweeperino and Specan? I've not considered an oscilloscope seriously until after reading some of your posts.

The JYO's DSO138 is not at all suited to our purpose. we will need an oscilloscope of at least 20 MHz and preferably 50 MHz bandwidth.
