Some help welcome
I just finished the wiring of a homebrew Sbitxand burned a W9JES 64bit image on a SD card. If I start with. /sbitx, I see I2C problems, but it goes not to the user screen it stuchs
?
i have not yet wired the Attiny85 can that be the cause? I have a 12mhz signal on the Wm8731 CLOCK SO I still have hope it's not a fake. Si5351 are from Mouser so no fake
?
Can somebody say how and in wich order the software needs the hardware to see we're it stucks I have SLC activity on I2Cbb but nothing on I2C.?
Linux is also new so a lot of things to learn

If both the WM8731 and SI5351 are connected correctly the UI will start.? You do not need the RTC or the SWR Sensor (ATTINY85).??
?
See if you can play a youtube video on the Pi and hear soud out of the speaker - that will tell you if the WM8731 is wired correctly.
?
When you say you finished wiring the sBitx what do you mean? What have you actually built???

Hi Dean, thanks for your answer, I built everything. I hooked everything together. I loaded JJs image.
I triple checked the wiring, When I start with ./sbitx I have I2cbb errors I will focus on SI5351 today there is activity on slc and sda I never saw activity on I2c for the WM8731, this one comes from Aliexpress (yes I know)
?
As the software does not start and that I am a little above 0 in Linux I wanted to know what can stop the firmware to investigate
?
Thank you 73s Hubert |
Hubert,
you can also find information on the forum because some people have built similar ones. The keyword in the search can be Homebrew sbitx or whatever you are looking for. The RPi must communicate with the Si5351 and WM8731, otherwise it will not load the application. Look for the problem here: the Arduino has an I2C address search. I tried reading some threads about this and several people are using the Mikroe WM module. --

The wm8731 goes on the Pi HW I2C bus.? The SI5351 goes on the bitbang i2c bus.? They use different pens for sda and scl. Make sure you have it wired properly for the schematic.?
?
Have you tried playing a YouTube video or any audio file just to see if you get audio out of the speaker??
?
If you cut and paste the exact i2c errors you are getting, it will be easier to advise you where to look.?

Hi Dean,?
I had a faulty si5351, and the screen shows up, it's frustrating when a software you never used does not work. I have a I2Cbb fault that could be the Attiny that is not yet wired. And it says unable to load init file now I go on with a bit mechanics to get it stable.
Thank you and best 73s

Can you test that the wm8731 works? Just open the browser and play something from youtube. On Sat, Oct 19, 2024, 1:14 AM F6DUK via <dxer67=[email protected]> wrote:
