SBITX V2 just arrived!

Hi all,

do not want to increase group chatter, just happy to say my ordered V2 arrived today home and it¡¯s waiting for me when I will come back from work!

My big thanks to Farhan, Thomas and rest contributed HFSigs crew for great job.?

Mine made it to CINCINNATI HUB, OH - USA Yay! Now they hook up a team of horses to the coach and start the arduous journey to Oregon. They say I might get it on April 28th.

Got mine at 5pm ET Tuesday, April 25, two days after it was sent out in Ann Arbor, MI, USA.

I haven't a chance to boot it up, yet.? ?Need to put power poles on the power cable, first.

My sBitx V2 just arrived, serial # 0044, at first it wasn't working very well and was like 9Khz high in frequency but after pulling the latest updates all is well and I made my first contact and was given a "loud and clear" audio report without having asked for it. So far I'm very happy with it. One observation, all the receive audio is between 85-95% on the volume control, it is quite clear though. I'm sure it will only continue to get better with every update.

Got a chance to boot mine (S/N 22) up last night and so far, so good.? I haven't tried transmitting, yet, as I have a non-resonant ZS6BKW dipole (in an inverted vee configuration), and I listened only to 40M.? SSB receive sounded good, and CW, and FT8 signals were loud and strong at my QTH in SE Michigan.? I have an external LDG autotuner I can use.? Is there a low-power TUNE mode in the v2.0 to protect the output transistors from transient high SWR during the tuning cycle?

I prefer slow AGC for SSB and Fast for CW, but it seems that the v2.0 doesn't 'remember' the AGC setting on a per-mode basis?

It would also be nice to be able to have additional RF bandwidth presets and/or edit the ones already provided, to match my other main radio (Elecraft K3s) where SSB is 2.8 kHz (100Hz - 2900Hz) by default, and I tend to use CW at 400 Hz (centered around 600 Hz).? When running FT8, the DATA mode automatically turns off TX EQ, TX Compression, and RX NB (which pokes holes in the signal), RX EQ (there likely others) by default, to give a flat TX/RX analog data response.

Also, the Elecraft has both a Lo-cut/Hi-cut and center/bandwidth DSP controls - pushing in one of the bandwidth controls switches between the modes, and pushing the other resets to the 'default' bandwidth on a per mode basis.? If you've never played with an Elecraft, you are missing out on a very nice human interface.

I should get around to transmitting by this weekend.
