Ok, Im just getting back to hopefully curing my D.E. v1 up to v2..
where do i find the info.? I got the kit, and would like to start..

would anyone in the states volunteer to upgrade mine> (for a fee of course.)

Mods are almost done..
I bought myself, some time ago Soldering/Desoldering tweezers that I can set the temp..Have not had the opportunity to use them, and worked great to remove all the SMD parts.

I'm a little concerned that things might not work well after the mod. specifically on receive.
When things blew, it popped C403. at the time i also purchased a new relay K9. after reassembly (replaced C403), and K9, still no receive...I do get Hiss and able to adjust volume of the hiss, but nothing on the display..
any suggestions on tracking no RX down?

Do you mean that the Rasberry Pi screen will not come up?? If the screen will come up on the Raspberry Pi home screen, then I suspect the microSD card may be the issue.? I suggest reloading a new microSD card with the image and then trying the receiver.? It would be best if you started with a new card for the v3 software.

Also, check that the software can change the band relay if you can.? You should hear two relays turn off and two on when changing bands.

Does the noise level change when you connect and disconnect the antenna?

Do you have an oscilloscope?? You may need one to solve some of the issues that can come up.

?Lots of progress...
1.? Mod that Ashar sent is all wired in..RTC included..
2.? Raspberry Pi comes up, all good on that side.? sbix comes up when launched, as does FLdigi..
3.? Band switching appears to be good.?

oops..
i have a signal generator, and with about 100-200mv i can get a signal through to see it on the spectrum display.?
I was able to changed bands.? Checked all bands and sig gen can get through, although with a pretty high signal level as mentioned.
Hooked the Hexbeam to the sbitx and just noise (hiss)..no ft8 on any of th appropriate frequencies, (yaesu gets them without the antenna hooked up 1

Didn't putz with TX, although adjusted PA-Bias and just kept the power out to 1 watt, and i can hear, what I would call a ratty signal on my yaesu(FTdx10) used the cw cq macro that worked...
I do have a scope..

seems like i need too much signal to get anything through the receiver.. I'll putz tomorrow..

I think i want to put the zeners in for the Pi, as well as better regulators for supply, it seems to 'brown out' just get a bunch of vertical lines, and i have to power off the rig..
i hate doing that without shutting down properly..

Something to note..on the splash screen you can see some intermittant horizontal noise lines..don't see them when the sbitx app is launched.
there is also the brownout last vid 5 seconds..the screen faids from the app to that..

Ok..now to update the software...ugg.

ok i get the nag about user_settings.ini to rename..
i renamed..
now ./update gives me the same nag..

finally some gains..
I put my rig into a dummy load, and the sbitx now hears !!
Tried CW and sending FT8 from the Yaesu, and the sbitx decodes..
Next to get the PA bias set for xmit.
I did the zener mod, and it did a couple of things.
1.? the sporadic lines on the splash screen have gone away.
2.? The Pi no longer 'browns out'

I will do the regulator mod.
nothing from the antenna, as it is down in the back yard waiting for reconnection...maybe tomorrow..
