#sBitx Idea for sBitx surround sound cw #sBitx

A friend of me developed a circuit board for surround sound cw.? It's pretty neat and as you tune past a station the cw goes from one ear to the other.? It gives another dimension to the perception of cw signals like I have not heard before.?
?With that in mind I was thinking that it would be fun if that could be implemented on the Sbitx. Looking at the schematic it looks like one channel of the codec is used for TX and one for RX.. so Mono only for the headphones. So a question for Farhan, if there is a redesign for the board would it be worth adding a switch so both channels can come out to the headphone during rx? Not that I have a clue as to how complicated the software would be to implement the filters necessary..... but just asking.??

Brad,
The rx audio output from the codec is mono. The other channel is used for transmit circuitry. This rules out stereo output for the rx.
The binaureal sound is not possible from the architecture in software alone.

Thanks Farhan, I realized that from the schematic.. but was wondering if there are future releases of the pcb if that could be changed by adding a switch for rx/tx mode for the input to the code.. anyway, it was an idea..?

Brad,
We could do that. I kept it this way for another reason. I really?wanted a future capability of full-duplex work. I am also interested in satellites and full duplex?is a very important?feature in working those birds ('Hear your own downlink, first!'). Hence, the use of two channels simultaneously. The software is also designed from ground up to be able to run full duplex and even multiple slices of receivers. I just wrote an email about it to Anthony.

Finally got back to reading groups.io. got sidetracked..?
That would be great. Never worked eme, but a friend does and that makes sense. thanks for the response.?

not sure what made me say eme.. oh well, have worked the birds.. but not since the 90's. :-)

Would it be possible to create IQ from the mono baseband? Like this does in fig. 2 from RF.

I would think you can do whatever phase shifting or filtering you can program, but it would be outside the sBitx since there is only one channel for audio hooked up to the headphone from the codec.?
