New "ANTENNAS" group has been formed.

A new group on groups has just been formed.

??? /g/antennas/

It is for the purpose of general discussion of antennas and antenna designs.?
This is a relatively free-ranging group with limited moderation.? Please let me
know if you want to become a moderator.

Thanks for starting that.

Ken, and others...

Just go to
??? /g/antennas/
and sign in.
Mail posts can be done from the group login or from email to:

This group needs at least a couple of moderators because I don't have time or
inclination to handle this and the BITX20 group at the same time.?
I would even transfer ownership to one of the moderators if someone wants to
take that on.

Ken

Either, or both work for me.? Do you want to be a moderator as well as a member?

Especially those that want to talk about *Bitx*es in this forum.

I'm already moderating two other non-electronics groups. Sorry.

?Hopefully it goes well.? I really do.? Having good information on antennas is great.??

? I would rather be a moderator of a political philosophy group.?? I've seen a couple of groups on fb get off track really quick when you have too many experts and everyone else is wrong.? Just be forewarned.? It gets to be a matter of sorting out what is what sometimes.

There's some well established forums out there regarding antennas.
Might be best to just decamp to one of those for things Maxwellian.
I haven't looked them over much, any suggestions of which?
Perhaps a better solution than creating yet another forum.

Some aspects of the EFHW are contentious, and not just here.
But an established antenna forum would have hashed it all out long long ago,
and likely have an FAQ about it.
So they don't have to deal with doing it?again every couple months.

I have not found one.

However:

Antennas? on groups IO is officially open.

Allison

A search within yahoo groups and groups.io for "antennas" finds dozens of such groups.
Also also some in the www.arrl.org forum, and forums.qrz.com forums, among others.
Some with one or two members.
This one has over 4311 members:
? ??

Once this new group has more than a few thousand members I might consider hanging out there.
Though it might be a good place to move discussions in this forum that veer off topic.
Like this discussion.

Yes, I keep trying to forget the yahoo mess.

There are a few there most I unsubed from.? The only ones there of interest is EMRFD, COSMACELF (1802 cpu), R2PRO.
There are a few other with high noise traffic and a few more than are moribund.

Bo Barry

But we already have very good EFHW & G5RV groups. No need for a center-frd all-band resonant group. ?? Bo W4GHV since '54

It is not a EFHW only.??

The focus is antennas.

Topics include all antennas, coax/feed lines, matchbox and other tools and instruments.
