New 10 turn pot for $10.00

Hello. ?I just was sent an email from Electronic Goldmine that had new 10 turn 10k pots on sale for $10.00 each. ?Since some are mentioning how touchy the ruining is with the included pot you might want to use a 10 turn pot. Not a bad price, but the charge out the wazoo for shipping.

part # G21868 ?

Precision 10 turn wirewound 10K potentiometer features linearity of 0.15%. This super precision 2 Watt potentiometer mounts in a 0.4" hole in panel by way of included nut. Has standard 1/4" X 0.5" long shaft for knob. New.

Anyone here actually used a 10-turn pot with the Raduino instead of the one supplied? If so, how well did it work in comparison?

I've used it.. gives you a lot of fine tuning. ten turn to one on the regular pot?. remember that your center connector is the last one on the ten turn pot looking at it from the front

Actually I saw that too but ordered anyway.? Backorders don't bother me much.? I'm always getting things off eBay from china so I'm used to it.

Yeah. These are real Bourns 10-turn pots for about $US8.00. Not bad. They also have some good transistor deals including J310's. And 10% off the order this week.

I have seen and used Bourns, Vishay, and Clarostat. These are all good pots. I don't know about the other "brands".

I have used BGMicro in the past with good results. I have also ordered from Electronic Goldmine with good results (but they seem to be slipping a bit lately; not as much choice of goodies). Other than that, I have no connection with either outfit,

About BGMicro. I got the ad in an e-mail. When I clicked on the picture to take me to the pot, I got the main page.

Doing a search for the stock number (RES1500) came back with no results. Apparently they anticipated having them but they do not. Don't know what the story is. It's never happened before. Hmmm..... There is a Clarostat 20K 10-turn pot (RES1462) available for about $US7.00. But unless you're browsing, perhaps BGMicro is not the place to look right now.

Nice but try this one.

Using a 10 turn pot with a Raduino is going to be frustrating, you will have to turn to the end of the band to shift the band frequency up or down.? I have not tried a 10 turn pot with the Raduino so I could be wrong.?

The pot supplied in the kit works well with a small knob on it, you can still fine tune the frequency step by step, and you can easily move to the ends of the turn to shift the band frequency.

If you are using the analog VFO, then a 10 turn pot is very useful.

?we might not need super precision i suppose.this normal bourns pot with a knob costs less at 35% around, and shipping is free.

These look suspiciously like the picture in my e-mail from BGmicro..

Maybe the ones advertised were not genuine Bourns units after all. Hi.

If so, these are about half the price for the same thing. ;)

Don't know but I did call there today and a good ole boy from TX ?who told me I was one of the lucky 75 that nabbed one of these up. ?(Not the last I found out).? Seeing that one on eBay was just an "I should have had a V8 moment!" ?Oh well.? I'm sure the one coming will work fine.

Be careful, I noticed that the pot on ebay does not carry the Bourns logo, which would tell me it is a fake/knock off. If you look closely at the picture you will see some color variance where the logo should be...thats a sloppy photo edit to remove the bourns logo to be in compliance with copyright laws. I would not buy it unless it has their logo on it.

This seller is offering? BOURNS brand itself. But without the knob.? At the description point you can check . While many indicate "unbranded / generic" this sellers says? BOURNS.

?Of course I dont have any business links with any ebay seller.
