Nano Static

Hello all:

I just saw on another forum that the Nano has no ESD protection and that the USB chip is easily blown.

Has anyone had this issue yet? Guess I need to order a couple of spares...

James.

I have never blown up any version of the arduino board from mini through to mega due to static.

However be very careful with any of the chinese clone boards especially due to their using low quality 5v regulators on board.

Many sellers say they are good for running from 15V rails (or higher in some cases) however the chinese 5V regulators are likely to blow if you use even 12V on the DC input pin.

All of mine are run at 9V or, preferably using the 5V input from a secondary stabiliser if a 12V rail is needed to be used..

That is the only problem I have ever had with and static problems are something I've never come across in purchase and use of well over 50 Nanos!
