MPJA Specials

Curious why you post these every week? This has nothing to do with the uBITX !

Hi Max,

Think it through. That company sells electronic parts. Many or most of the uBitX owners modify the radios - some radically so. We need parts n pieces to do that. MPJA sells those parts n pieces. How is this not to do with uBitX?

There are thousands of companies that sell electronic parts, are you going to post a link to these as well. I hope not!

As a member to a lot of groups I get tons of emails a day. I'd rather see questions and answers in the groups, not ads. Either of those can contain links for more information.

But if I wanted to see an ad for MPJA I would subscribe to it. I don't feel like it should be placed here!

I think the posts are appropriate when the company has a special that is directly relevant to the BITx, like when they had a sale on the relays that are used to modify older models. Posting during weeks when they aren't offering something relevant isn't as appropriate.

I have found some interesting items to incorporate into my uBITX builds.? I am building my own version of a Raduino that will incorporate a 100 PPR (Pulse Per Revolution) encoder that I purchased from MPJA.? Over time, I have bought wire, hardware, connectors, etc. from them.? I enjoy perusing their virtual flyers.

Max, I'm gonna make you a happy camper.

Related to this, it looks like mpja has the axicom D2n relays at a good price.? Are these the ones to use to replace the relays in the ubitx based on this post?

I enjoy those links, keep them coming. If some people don't know how to set up filters in their e-mail that should not keep you from posting them.

If they say MPJA in the subject line with no RE: in front, they need to hit DELETE or buy a new keyboard, if not willing to admit they are not computer-savvy. It's like some who see all upper case and call it shouting when the writer may just have a vision problem. Some are merely short-sighted...

1-1/2 negative and the rest positive comments ... and I was prepared to leave the group?

Hi,

We don't even have to bother about configuring a filter. Right click on the message and then choose to *IGNORE* the entire thread - that includes all of the messages past, present, and future in the same 'conversation/thread/subject'. Never see it again unless you search for it.

I do it to WSPR and FT(x) threads all the time. If I decide I want to see them I can "unhide" them. I do (ab)use the modes sometimes. It is so easy that even *I* can do it:)

Since you like them so much why don't you sign up for them yourself?

Too late Max,

Having ordered from them I am already signed up. Wanna hear about other places I am signed up or don't you experiment? Just use the ignore thing. If you learn how to make filters you can automatically delete *all* messages from me, Bob, and some of the others and never have to see any of us again.

Have a nice day and...

My feeling is if the specials can be used with the BITX20 one should be able to post them.

I subscribe to Electronic Goldmine as well as MPJA . They have daily specials which one may miss if you casually browse so notifying others can be useful.

Do you guys really have to get so bitchy about such a trivial matter ???
You seem to forget this is NOT just an American oriented group there are
many others from outside the States who have no clue whatever who MPJA are
they just hit the delete button and say nothing........surely those who don`t like the
mails can do the same.

Hello Dave:

I have a simpler solution: I have a BITX folder and anything that does not interest me or relate to my interests gets moved to that folder unread. That way, should I ever want/need to read them, they are available. I do this all the time. No time wasted. In fact, a lot of good QRP sets are designed and sold by British hams and such items interest me greatly. I am not so much about improving my V6 as keeping it operational since the V6 is fulfilling my expectations nicely.

Thanks for your thoughts.
