LDG Z-817 autotuner
I use my 817 with the uBitx. I press and hold the tune button until it goes into the tune mode and then I just say ¡°oooooooooooooo¡± into the microphone and watch it tune up. If you¡¯ve never tuned that particular antenna you may say ¡°oooooooooooo¡± until you almost run out of breath but it will tune. Once you tune around on a few bands, the memory tune is pretty quick. Never tried tuning with CW but I suspect it would work just the same.?

That is interesting on the kt100 ldg tuner. I was given a presumably working ldg yt100 and and can't get it to do a thing as far as semi auto tuning.Tried cw tx wit hthe fcn button held down. The red light flashes at about 4 hz but never get any other sounds of relays and the red light light never quits flashing.
Any ideas? |

That won¡¯t help with what I want to do. I run normally my station on FT8 remotely using team viewer. I currently have a manual tuner and I want to be able to control the tuner using the cat breakout interface. I may just have to go with the Z11 as it will retune on an SWR threshold.

Any LDG that auto tunes remotely will work. I had the older version in a sealed waterproof case that would autotune. Just needed 13v so I had to run that with the coax. They have this model now, but it 200+ dollars. RT-100 Remote Tuner On Sun, Mar 24, 2019 at 7:53 AM d balfour <davesters@...> wrote:

Hi?
I use the LDG Z11Pro with my ubitx.? It lives in the garden shed where the long wire antenna terminates and fed by coax under the lawn. It is powered by 8 Duracell AA batteries inside its case that lasts for about a year. Each setting is memorised for quick
switching between bands.
Works a treat

Dave the reason you were told the yt100 won¡¯t work with the uBITX is because the FT-857 and other radios listed talk directly to the tuner via the interface cables to activate the tune function.

The uBITX doesn¡¯t have that capability within the various software/firmware that is presently available. Now if you can write a Arduino sketch that can duplicate the tune function of the FT-857¡¯s then all you would need to make would be the interface cables between the uBITX and tuner. Thanks Skip That is what I figured when I initially got powered and couldn't make it go with the PTT. Figured it needed a signal on one of the input wires. but which wire and what flavor. Beyond the scope of plug and play solution. Certainly I am not against your solution. I had thought of wiring in a bank of switches to control the relays. but that seemed so inelegant.
