FT8 <¡> in call sign field

I was out on POTA the other day and kept getting called by someone but all I could see was <¡> instead of their callsign using the sBITX app. Very frustrating.?

Any idea on how to deal with this? Do I need to run WSJX as well?

That happened to me a few days ago on one or two contacts. Not sure what it was other than maybe the other operator not having the callsign properly set up.?

The solution is to use external wsjt-x or jtdx. The 7" LCD is not enough for the display, because these applications require a higher resolution. Use an external hdmi monitor. sbitx only recognizes standard callsigns.
It does not know the extended call signs.
These are callsigns using the / sign or casual callsigns using multiple numbers and multiple characters.
That's why I recommend well-functioning external applications.
I have reported this problem several times before, but there is no solution. Use the forum search engine and you'll see.

WSJT-X does this also if the call sign is longer than the display window.? It should be OK in the log file.

I'd like to order a ubitz 6/7 but their website looks pretty old and the prices are static??

I'm in the UK so is it wise to order through PayPal (HFSignals) or is it a scam??

Is it current or where else can I buy the kit??

I have ordered from HFSignals a few times.? The prices seem to be current.? They haven't changed in a while.? Don't be scared to order from them - they're totally honest.? DHL, the carrier they use, provides excellent service.? I have seen 50 hours for a shipment from Hyderabad to Winnipeg.? I don't know about any customs duty or sales taxes in the UK - I left London just after the war, and I was only 2 years old then.
