Connection test between uBITX and digital communication program via cat communication
#ubitx
Two days ago I wrote a CAT communication program for uBITX.?
It was tested through Ham Radio Deluxe and I posted that information through this group. Perhaps the CAT communication test seems to have been completed with this posting. I have tested using various software that is popular these days. Posting about CAT communication testing is probably the last. But if you have amateur radio software that I did not think of, mail to me, Then I will test again. 1.WSJT-X ? ?uBITX(HF Tranceiver for Amateur radio) with wsjt-x software and CAT interface test ? ? ? ?result : perfect,?I was able to use wsjtx's rig control functions (Set, Get Frequency, PTT Control) 2.fldigi ??uBITX(HF Tranceiver for Amateur radio) with fldigi CAT interface test ?? ? ?result : perfect,?I was able to use fldigi's rig control functions (Set, Get Frequency, PTT Control) 3.JT65-HF ??uBITX(HF Tranceiver for Amateur radio) with jt65-HF and CAT interface test ?? ? ?result : perfect,?I was able to use fldigi's rig control functions (Set, Get Frequency, PTT Control) 4.FTBCAT ??uBITX(HF Tranceiver for Amateur radio) with FTBCAT and CAT interface test ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXWUqsRJE_I ? ?result : perfect,?I was able to use fldigi's rig control functions (Set, Get Frequency, PTT Control, vfoA / vfoB Change and more) If you want to use ham radio deluxe to control uBITX and change the settings of uBITX, check out the previous post I registered. Firmware for testing will be released shortly. If you do not like it after testing, you can always restore it with the original firmware so you do not have to worry. There were various opinions in this group about source disclosure. I will choose the best way to publish the source, apart from suggesting how to get some features into the original uBITX original source with github and how to publish the source separately. -- Best 73 KD8CEC / Ph.D Ian lee kd8cec@... I think most will be interested.? This also solves the immediate issue of how to implement CAT, though, one could always do their own. Marco - KG5PRT On Thu, Dec 28, 2017 at 8:02 PM, Gordon Gibby <ggibby@...> wrote:

Thanks for reply Gordon. After a little more testing, I will be posting how to upload and restore the firmware soon. 2017-12-29 11:02 GMT+09:00 Gordon Gibby <ggibby@...>:

of course.?I also used the protocol of FT-817 for compatibility with other programs, but I think there is much better way than that. I will continue to add uBITX proprietary protocols in the future. 2017-12-29 11:05 GMT+09:00 M Garza <mgarza896@...>:

rams, but I think there is much better way than that.Cool looking forward to it! Maybe?Ashhar can give you access and you can create a branch and a pull request. That's how most projects merge changes. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýVery nice. ?I will definitely do this with my raspberry pi using WSJTX. ?So you¡¯re controlling it with the USB port on the Ubitx??Let us know when you have some working instructions that we can follow so we can make use of this also.? I hope so too. I am still requesting a pullrequest with one or two bug fixes. There is a bug where the cw side tone can not be changed. I found it a few days ago and made a correction and requested a pull request now. In addition to that, when the frequency goes below 1Mhz, right padding is broken and some minor things are still being corrected. Thank you for your interest. 2017-12-29 12:38 GMT+09:00 peatmoss - ki6ssi <pete@...>: On Thu, Dec 28, 2017 at 06:30 pm, Ian Lee wrote: |
I also wanted to connect raspberry pi with uBITX.?I used raspberry pi when I was teaching embedded subjects in university. I have used it in my project, so maybe there will be a variety of raspberry pi (such as RPI 1, 1B, 2, 3) in my lab. I will try various things using them and post them in a short time. Really grateful for your comments on the new initiative. 2017-12-29 14:40 GMT+09:00 Joe Puma <kd2nfc@...>:

Farhan has a lot of stuff on his plate, his uBitx github repository may not see much activity.

The way it works with the Bitx40v3, the units being shipped now still have Farhan's original Raduino firmware from a year ago, bugs and all. It's usable, but Allard took on the task of developing and managing the Raduino firmware. Most people update their Bitx40v3 firmware from? ? ?github.com/amunters/bitx40 Allard has a philosophy of minimizing hardware changes to the stock Bitx40v3 to make it easy as possible. Others have created their own firmware variants to support such things as shaft encoders for tuning, bigger displays, multiple bands. Perhaps the uBitx firmware will develop in much the same way. Thanks for the good info.?I have not run amateur radio for several years. When I read github of Farhan and Allard, it is as you told me. i will consider releasing bug fixes and improvements through a forked (from Farhan) separate github. 2017-12-30 1:25 GMT+09:00 Jerry Gaffke via Groups.Io <jgaffke@...>: Farhan has a lot of stuff on his plate, his uBitx github repository may not see much activity. |
I installed wsjtx and fldigi in raspberry pi3 to control uBITX. There was a minor problem, but it worked perfectly.A minor problem is that uBITX reboots when you press the init button (hamlib tab in wsjtx) on the raspberry pi3. it's not problem or It is a usb power problem and I guess that it can be solved with a simple modification (direct connect rx/tx between raspberry pi and uBITX without usb cable ? or ? using usb cable without power line ? but it's not problem about me) I used the latest version of Razbian and wsjtx. 1.Test communication between uBITX(HF Tranceiver for Amateur radio) and raspberry pi(using WSJT-X) 2.Test communication between uBITX and raspberry pi(using fldigi, flrig) 73 2017-12-29 14:40 GMT+09:00 Joe Puma <kd2nfc@...>:

The usb ext cable looks good.?It seems to be very cool when attached to the case. Now, compatibility with most of the software seems to have been verified. i will organize and stabilize the code and release the firmware.? Please wait a moment. 2017-12-30 10:15 GMT+09:00 bill richardson <ng1p.bill@...>: I can¡¯t wait to try it out.. I found this mini usb ext. cable that can be mounted to make this all come together for a nice way to interface. |
I did a final test yesterday for compatibility with other software and devices. uBITX communication to Raspberry pi with small LCD I will release Beta firmware for uBITX next week. Of course, I will upload firmware and how to restore it to the original firmware again. Do not worry. If you do not like my firmware, you can always restore it to the original firmware. Thanks 2017-12-31 1:51 GMT+09:00 tom van der meer <tgrvdm@...>: Ahh. New sw thats the resolution to my problem!!! Did manage te do something via cat with the original sw but got strange errors on uBitx. Cant wait |
Thanks for your interesting. It will be released in a day or two. An error may occur when connecting to the uBITX for the first time. This is a problem with Arduino and a problem that people have known for a long time. I have posted some related beta test results below Link. . I will email the beta test firmware. Howto Firmware upload link is You can easily restore it the same way when you want to go to the original firmware. Don't worry!
