Carrier line
So, just recently I have noticed a carrier line which is very annoying. See on the photo my frequency is 14.044 and there is a constant noise line on 14.045. It is always there on every frequency and every band. I can diminish the sound by turning the IF down near 40. The line also follows any RIT movement. |
Yesterday the rig was on all day and that line was there but not always irritating. Well, today I started up and no line or noise. About 10 minutes into the session the line and the noise returned and now very annoying. Sounds like a component is heating up and is out of tolerence.
?
Any ideas?

It is a "birdie"?? All receivers (well, most anyway) have them. You can try more internal shielding on the radio (there was a great thread on that before, suggesting that shielding the display cable was the frist step) to try and reduce it.? ? It is unlikely?to be a single component? ?It is a real signal.? ?Just one that isn't coming in from the outside. Good luck!
