Bitx40 order - black hole #bitx40help

Hello group,

I ordered the Bitx 40 with DHL delivery on the 29th September from the RFSigs web page.? Other than the paypal receipt for the payment I've had no comms.? I've written to?teamhfsigs@...?and have had no response.? Is this normal or should I be worried?? The web order page promises delivery in 1 week with tracking.

Apologies if this is the wrong forum to query this but my order seems to have dropped into a black hole.

Dave, G8XUL

Hi Dave
Not sure what the story is. When I ordered, I don't remember if I received an email from hf sigs. I believe I went back in to my PayPal account the next day, and hfsigs had added the shipping info to the PayPal transaction record. I do know that it took 5 days from shipping to arrival, and the DHL tracking was excellent. If you haven't already done so, I would check the transaction record in your PayPal account to see if hfsigs has added a tracking number.

Brent, thanks for taking the time to reply.? That gives me some useful info - nothing in the paypal records however.

I don't know that it's normal, but you're not alone. I placed my order on 1 October and haven't heard anything yet either. No additional info in my paypal transaction either.? Perhaps someone was tied up this week?? Maybe parts are backordered (I'm waiting on parts for my RS-HFIQ that aren't due until April 2018)?? ?Good Luck - Pat, W4PBJ

Pat,? thanks.? Good to know I'm not the only one (sorry that's at your expense :-).? If that's the case fine.? I know that this is a hobby and a very good price so an 'out of office' reply would be OK.? I was just worried that something had gone astray.??

Dave

I think, there is no serious problem. 29-1st oct it was weekend. Somebody has to check order, pack TRX, send it.

It is nor a big proffesional shop neither factory. Sometimes there is no "one day - ready to send" bitx.

But I agree, some kind of confirmation would be nice.

PS I receive mine after 3 weeks (ordinary post, not DHL).

Thanks guys, I've just had a notification and tracking number.? My BtX is in Frankfurt :-)

I agree Mac, I usually expect a couple of days before anything ships and then the shipping time in addition to that. So I really have no worries with this order.? Glad to see Dave got some info on his.? Just checked mine and it has shipped also.? Looks like I'll have a something new on the bench real soon.? 73 - Pat W4PBJ

You will get a shipping confirmation from DHL
takes a couple of weeks for that to show up in your email.
I paid with Paypal

As a footnote, my BitX40 plus Raduino arrived today by DHL.? The tracking was first class once I had the number.

On the downside, I had to pay an extra ?21 in taxes before they would release for delivery.? This seems a lot on top of goods costing only around ?45.

The kit is well packed and looks in good order.

I've printed?VE1LEB's 'Ergonomic' case and look forward to meeting some of you on the air soon.

Attn Farhan, for the website: Delivery by India Post - check. By DHL - check, *except UK*. They're gouging the gullible 21 quid a time - half the item price!

Same scenario to Canada. Shipping and tracking where first rate, but DHL charged 26.00 CAD import fees. Would have been free by post.

So, Attn Farhan, for the website: Delivery by India Post - check. By DHL - check, *except UK, CA*.

There's 2 major slices of the market being abused. Is there a competent competitor to DHL for international delivery from India?

Hopefully helpfully, Dex

DHL do other dodgy things.? I recently bought something from Hong Kong and it was sent by DHL E-commerce rather than post.? It arrived in ZL and was then dumped into the local Postal system as if sent from Frankfurt, Allemagne via Deutsche? Post!!? I presume they then didn't pay the local mail charge!

Cheers,

Will

"Had 2", Chris?

DHL, as presented on the hfsigs website, is always an option. Their courier service may be faster than Post, bit it's a pity it's like the farmer's getting his cows serviced (there's a song about that, by Martin Curtis, but I doubt it's ever been recorded).

Dhl is doing a good job into usa. Europe seems to be strangely slapping duty for those that arrive by dhl and none to those that arrive by india post.
There ia a choice to get them by either of the two. India post is quite reliable but a tad slower. These are my personal views. I neither deal with shipments nor look at them regularly. My data is based on people's responses over the last few months.
