Erik Hokansson

Built the kit...audio squealed like when I built the bitx40(which I fixed )..now nothing...any other people have this issue? Suggestions?

Solderings on the trimmer? Look for a weak connection on the volume pot

Erik Hokansson

Tried another pot ..ran wires from the board..tried head phones...still nothing..not sure what I should check on the audio circuit..

Do you still have the lcd working? If so, does the radio work but without sound??
Maybe the ptt is activated....

Erik Hokansson

LCD is working...completely disconnected the ptt..still nothing...it worked for a short time when did 1st power up...

Erik,

I suspect a relay. k3 mostly..

Check the continuity between M1 and M2. It should be short on RX and open on TX.

Check if you have 12V on the TDA2822 pin 2

Erik,

On the hfsignals wireup page? ?? ? it says:??
??DANGER : If you power up the ?BITX without the pull-up resistor the ?BITX can randomly go into CW transmit

Do you have the 4.7k pullup to 5v on the CW key pin?
If not, it could be going into transmit mode.

Yes..the resister is there...i am able to transmit out with a key and thru the mic so output is not an issue..it is just deaf

I do have 12v at pin 2.. I was able to key up the P tt and use a keyer to transmit...they key word there is "was"..now the display just reflects the u bitx version and stays there?

Try a firmware reload?? Also check connections between board and raduino, and raduino and display.

Have you checked Q71? Try removing it. Go to CW mode and see if you get the CW side tone

Here's a simplified schematic of the received audio signal path to guide you through the signal flow. Check Q70 for a signal output. M1 and M2 is a set of normally closed relay contacts on receive, on TX, contacts open.
