Audio configuration help.

Hey gang, I¡¯m doing some fiddling around with my v3 and I figured the first order of business was to get the OS copied and booted from a USB3 thumb drive. This definitely helps the over all booting and operational speeds, but interestingly enough now the audio system seems to have stopped working.. any 101 tips?

Also, would there be link to the creation and config of the required audio channels handy? (In case I break it good)
thanks!

Okay, I found part of my issue. One was that the Volume control was somehow hidden from the taskbar.
But I don't think that is the main source of my no-sound problem.?

As a goof, I plugged in the headphones to the side EAR jack and sure enough, there was the sound.. checking the schematic I can see and hear the audio feed to U9 the LM380N amplifier on the [AMP IN] pin 2 after it passes through the headphone jack.
Testing for power at the amp, I can also measure 13.8v on one side of RD23 and approximately 4v on the other side feeding pin 14.
The output from the amp is all but silent on pin 8 and C32 shows no signs of distress.
When I probe with an 8 ohm speaker I can just faintly hear the sounds of the FT8 Frequency I have tuned to.

It certainly looks as if RD23 has opened up for some strange reason.?

Loading the OS from USB does not change the sound.
The audio path to the speaker is the LM380N, which does not work below 10V. Since you wrote the 13.8V measurement, the cause must be looked for elsewhere.
If you use the device with the 7" display in ft8 mode, with the v3.02 software, you can set the own voice during the broadcast on the screen where ft8 works. In previous versions, you have to go to the cw screen to be able to set the own voice.

Thank you for responding Gyula.
Yes, the problem is that RU23 opened and has cut power to the LM380N.
I have bodged in a 10¦¸?resistor until my 0805 resistor assortment arrives.? I have many partial assortments remaining however 2.2¦¸?is not one I have on hand.
