Apology in advance if dumb question - How do I know my order has been captured?

Greetings from sunny South Africa :-)

Short while ago (Saturday 16th December) I placed order for uBitX using DHL delivery. Made payment via PayPal and bank shows a 'pending transaction' in ZAR (and PayPal show 'completed' - see screen shots) but no confirmation feedback of any nature received...? Is this 'correct / normal'?? Is there a mechanism to verify order status or a specific address at 'HFSignals' I should make contact with?

Sorry to be bugging everyone but I do wish to ensure my order has been received and posting here seems the only method of contact available...

Unfortunately PayPal offices are closed for inquires over the weekend and being as excited as I am about purchasing just needed to 'reach out' and ask so hence this post!

Many thanks in advance.

Very best regards to everyone and as always remember to KEEP SMILING :-)

When I ordered my 40 I received no confirmation other than the PayPal processing like you. The radio arrived the weeks later. I was uncharacteristically silently patient because of all the nice things people say about Ashar.? That worked for me.

Thank you for reassurance - appreciated.? At the time of posting my question, I had not? received any 'eMail' acknowledgement (PayPal or HF Signals), only recording being the banking transactions as per screen shots.? Since then I am happy to advise that PayPal have issued a receipt and like you (plus MANY others) note the compliments Ashar receives so I will join those wait patiently for a DHL delivery <smile>.

Sorry to have used bandwidth for a non technical issue.

All the very best from a dark (its night time) South Africa (where it WILL be sunny tomorrow!).

Also Nigel,? the first batch of ?BITX sold out in a couple of days.? They went to 'preorder' status on the 11th or 12th, I believe.? So your order on the 16th will be in the same batch I'm in - the ones that'll ship after Christmas.

Thanks for clarification Andy.

Absolutely no problem regarding delivery sometime early next year. I have many 'irons in the fire' so not as if I need urgent delivery. With current state of South African Postal service (VERY different to the past) thought the special price and DHL option was too good to miss but lack of expected response from PayPal and not finding a 'status page' on HF Signals resulted in my posting question.

Exciting times ahead for sure. I have an old Radiommobile car radio from the 1960's that includes 8 short wave bands with variable inductor tuning? and my thinking is to use the relevant parts as a 'front end pre-selector' for the uBitx (previous??plan was a direct conversion QRP build) but I digress...

Till we chat again remember to KEEPSMILING :-)?

If you are talking uBit, I ordered mine on the 9th with standard free shipping.? Came to So. Calif on the 16th.

Check on PayPal to see shipping date.? I did not figure out how to use the tracking number?

If you are having problems tracking India Post, try using DHL tracking. Although
I did not pay for DHL shipping that is the way they sent mine. I ordered the 9th
and it went out the 15th and will be here the 19th by DHL.

Ed, thanks for the heads up.
DHL tracking numbers are just a 10 digit number.
India Post tracking numbers are 9 digit numbers preceded by "RN" and followed by "IN",? for example? RN123456789IN

I had requested India Post, as we are remote and hard to find, several hours from any town of more than 2000.
Our mailbox is 50 miles from our post office and 5 miles from our house.
House is 2 miles of bad unnamed roads from where google maps thinks we are.
We have fresh snow coming down.
I sincerely doubt any DHL driver in his right mind will be knocking on our door.

So was good to figure out that this was in fact sent DHL, and that they hope to deliver tomorrow.
I have contacted DHL with alternatives.
The paypal email just gave the tracking number, it didn't say anything about DHL.

Perhaps hfsignals has upgraded some of the active forum members to DHL to encourage feedback.
That's much appreciated.
But some of us need to know what is happening so we can make appropriate arrangements.?

Well, I got an initial PayPal notice that payment had been charged....

and THEN, today, another notice from PayPal that it had been shipped, with tracking number (paid for DHL shipping). So they acknowledge shipment through PayPal.

Spent 30 minutes on hold with DHL at?317 554 5191,
they eventually told me I should call their other number at? ?800 225 5345
for tracking info on this particular service.

There was told that for remote locations, DHL hands it off to some other carrier.
In this case it goes via USPS to our mailbox, apparently no signature required.
DHL gave me a USPS tracking number 30 digits long from which I can figure out when
to make the trek to our mailbox.

So all is well.

Fingers crossed for you Jerry.? Mine was just delivered by a guy in a Budget rental truck.? He got lost Friday and had to retry today.? UPS took me off the remote location list more than 10 years ago.? I guess DHL didn't get the memo.? My road runs through two townships.? It is paved by me but most of it is gravel (if it doesn't rain too hard).? Depending on where you are coming from some map solutions route you across gravel which seems to confuse delivery companies.? At least your USPS carrier probably knows the area.

As I said previously, Paypal gave a 10 digit tracking number, which is DHL.
DHL said they had handed it off to the US Postal Service since we are so remote, and gave me a 30 digit USPS tracking number.
Using the USPS website and the 30 digit number, I can now track the package here in the US.
USPS tried to deliver it today, but I did not happen to be standing around our mailbox 5 miles from the house.
So it's now at the Post Office till I make the next 50 mile trek into town and sign for it.
I've only got about 4 days to pick it up, then the USPS will ship it back to India from whence it came.
You really don't want to miss that note in the mailbox informing you of an attempted delivery.

An India Post tracking number from Paypal would be something like RN123456789IN, ?you can only track
that to the airport in India?using publicly available tools on the web.
However, if your India Post shipment takes a month or more, it's worth checking with your local post office.
The clerks at my post office can track an India Post package all the way to its destination:

Does it have to be signed for in person? Or can you sign the little card and just leave it in the box with the flag up?

Vince.

I don't really know if I can leave a signed card in the mailbox, will post again in this thread if I find out
and nobody else has posted that information.
I'll pick it up at the post office since it's then less likely to get stuffed into the wrong mailbox or something.
We're going to town anyway.

Whether or not you can is indicated on the card. Whatever the carrier checked or indicated on the card is what matters, even if they erred.

Some of us somehow got upgraded from India Post to DHL on this first batch.
If shipped via India Post, it arrives via your local postal service.
If shipped via DHL, hard telling exactly how it will arrive without calling DHL and asking.?
