Amateurradiokits wiring error

I have found a wiring error with the amateurradiokits. Its to do with the volume control pot, the black wire must go to the wiper and the brown wire to end hot end. this is more important if you use this to connect to an s-meter.

Thank you. That was exactly my problem. When volume was low the meter was dead. Turn the volume up and meter went up. I ended up putting the audio in for AGC on relay side of R70. But there was still a difference in signal strength from volume low to high. I thought those wires were crossed. You confirmed it.?

Phillip,
Are we talking about their AGC kit for uBITX?
... Martin

dont know, just reverse the wires. As it’s wrong

Martin,?

Phillip is talking about the volume pot on the ubitx case made by Amateurradiokits.in

Thanks, Carl. I actually had no idea what Philip was talking about and the "AGC kit" was just a guess.
Vagueness seems to be a necessary qualification for posting here. HI

Philip,

Thanks for noticing this. I switched the wires and confirmed that things are correct by tracing the circuit and comparing it to the original uBITX wireup doc. (Shows mid-vol going to wiper).

Question, on S-meter hookup.? I am using one of the KD8CEC "simple analog" meters and he shows the input to the op-amp (pin3? "In+") input from Vol Hi...

When you switched the two wires, did you also move the input wire for the sensor so that it was still with Vol high? Seems strange that the sensor is picking its input off of Vol Hi since that will vary with position of the pot. It would "seem" like the input should be the center wiper ("Mid Vol").

my lm386 version works fine on Vol Hi... I think the wire switch is only for the sunil case issue.

Sam

your vol-hi is on a non-wiper contact on the pot?

Yellow wire, if I remember correctly

Just checked. Yellow to vol-h (pin 4 audio connector), Orange to vol-m wiper (pin 5 audio), and green to gnd (pin 3 audio). I have connector 1 (not pin 1) from lm386 circuit to vol-h.

thank you! ?The sensor seems to have mostly two states either near zero or near 80 when I watch it in simulation mode ubitx database editor. ?At least I have eleimnated this as the problem?

You can try relay side of r70. There might be more energy there.?

Btw you’ll know if you’re not using the H vol wire if you turn volume down on signal and S meter goes flat. Or it moves when volume is turns up. ?

Thank you. Got to set this aside for a couple weeks. But plan to get back to it then and try your suggestions relocating the input to sensor.?
