#sbitx_v2 When I performed "txcal", the power suddenly turned off.
#sbitx_v2
Hi everyone,
After performing "Calibrating the SWR/Power meter", I could only get 20W output at 7MHz. When I performed "txcal", the power suddenly turned off.
It seems that the protection of the stabilized power supply worked.
Then, when I tried to use the battery, I had to stop because of smoke.
When I opened the case, the pattern was on fire as shown in the picture below.
What is wrong with this?

At txcal, the output stage is adjusted per band, which is protected by ALC.
It protects when the hardware is fine. Something happened with the hardware here. The FETs have become shorted or something similar. Check that the FETs are OK. Check that the screw holding the FETs to the heatsink is in place. I would check those first -- Gyula HA3HZ |
Hello Gyula, I will contact support. In the meantime, I have ordered the FETs and will see if I can replace them myself. But it may be difficult since some of the board patterns are burned out. Ichiro JE1JGC 2023年5月21日(日) 15:43 HA3HZ <gyula@...>: Hello Ichiro, |
Hello Gyula, Thank you very much. In the meantime, I will try my best when I get the FET. Ichiro JE1JGC 2023年5月21日(日) 18:14 HA3HZ <gyula@...>: I understand. Use a properly sized wire jumper from one solder point to another solder point. |
