2nd half deals with solder paste

My preferred tool

still need solder paste, a way to deliver it, really fine tweezers (forceps) ( maybe consider ones sold for plucking individual eyebrow hairs), skillet optional, and 2 or 3 pair of the strongest reading glasses that you can wear at the same time on top of each other from the dollar store. And good lighting. Also pick up a cookie tray or equivalent from the dollar store, to work in, so parts are more likely to be found again.
Probably need a toothbrush and quart of 91% Walmart isopropanol to clean up afterwards

keep the lead bits away from kids and wash your hands afterwards

not a huge investment if it turn out you don¡¯t like it

A paint scraper tool is useful too, for sliding the reflowed PCB onto, off the hotplate.

This Is the ?solder paste that I like to use.

Neat project, he re-invented the wheel making his own PID Controller though. This is common practice in the bullet casting/reloading groups since the quality of bullets made can be affected by temperature variation. Here's a YouTube Video of a similar setup with a commercially made controller. Believe it or not the commercial ones are only about 20-30 bucks and they're usable in other ways if interest in SMD Soldering falls off such as a heated chamber for 3D printing.
