Full width for Nextion 2.8?
In my ongoing and never ending quest to not leave well enough alone I have added a Nextion 2.8" display to my "mobile" V6. ;-)? I have read threads until my eyes are watering and so far I have not came up with a .tft file that will fill the complete width of the screen.? The rightmost 3/8" or so is not used.? I have used Ian's .tft file and found another one called "adjusted" and neither fills out the screen.? Is there a .tft file that will use the entire screen or am I SOL?
On a brighter not it sure looks slick with the Nextion! 73, Justin B. KI5GKD |
Vic - Thanks, these little extruded aluminum boxes look nice.? As far as the display's concerned it just doesn't make sense to me for the display to stop 1/4" from the right edge.? That's about where the viewable area would have been if I had mounted the display behind the "stock" opening.? Perhaps I need to download that Nextion software and see if there is a way to "stretch" it a bit...
The control labels are engraved.? The front panel is aluminum and painted black and the control labels are then engraved. 73, Justin B. KI5GKD |
There was a discussion several months ago about needing a software update to fully fill out the wider Nextion display.? It seems that there are several size Nextion and that each may need it's own software version. Vic and Arv - After Vic mentioned this might be a limitation of the display I took a closer look at it.? I found that with power removed, and I looked at the display closely, the rightmost 3/8" or so is a different shade of black so that might be all it can do!? If I had realized that originally I could have saved the grief of making another front panel from scratch!
Guess I'll swap the front panels out and go back to the original which should fit the displayed area perfectly. Regards, Justin B. KI5GKD |
Justin Seems that there is a Nextion Editor that can be used to configure driver software for various versions of display.? The output of this is apparently included into C-language to make up code for various versions and sizes of Nextion display.? This process could be the solution for your particular display having a black bar on the right side. Justin,
Drifting from your topic a bit … how tolerant is your uBITX v6 of the ATU-100 antenna tuner? ?I’ve tried one with my uBITX v6 and had the transmit output to the antenna stick ON while in SSB mode. The transmit light isn’t on, but my power meter shows power output! I haven’t noticed it happen when the ATU-100 is out of the circuit. Sorry for the drifting question. Thanks! Stephen, KO4CVU. |
Stephen - I have two of these and haven't noticed this but I will try to pay attention today.? One is the standalone unit pictured above and the other I built into the same box the V6 is in.? Have you did the mods for QRP operation?? Have you maybe verified with a different wattmeter to make sure it's not a glitch in the ATU100?
