Verifying errors with version 1.27.7

KC9SGV

Hi All,?
My latest Arduino IDE 1.8.5 gives me verifying errors while trying to upload to the Raduino for my BitX40.

My old Vista computer talks to the Raduino.
Read up as much as I could.
First time using the IDE.
What am I missing ?
Libraries ?
Knowledge, skill definitely.
Please help !

Bernie,
KC9SGV

So it compiles ok, it's only when it tries to upload to the Raduino that you have errors?
Could help if you cut and past the "verifying errors" into a post here??

Did You add pinchangeinterrupl library? (library manager)

I just uploaded and everything is (till now ;-) ) OK

You do need to include some libraries or it will return errors. Once that was done in my case, every sketch has compiled and loaded to the Raduino without a hitch.

The sketch now compiles after getting some more libraries.
I still get an upload error.

With the BitX40 off, the IDE does not see the com port.
With the BitX40, on, the serial monitor shows the *Si5350 ON, but the IDE returns an upload error after compiling the Sketch successfully.

I wish I had some prior Arduino expertise....

I'm running Win 7 most of the time and I have this happen, too. Sometimes, unplugging/plugging the USB connectors fixes it. Other times, I have to close the Arduino IDE completely, and reload it. Sometimes I unload the IDE and also unplug the USB connector. Usually, I get an audible sound from the computer when the system finds the port. Other times when it doesn't see it, I get a rapid beep-beep-beep tone telling me it doesn't see it, but knows the connector is connected. If that happens, I go to the Drivers directory of the IDE and run the installer. If it still doesn't work, I do a total reboot of the system. If none of these work, I take a nap.

Arduino expertise can easily be had by purchasing a cheap Ebay sourced Arduino NANO and
doing some of your own software for that device.? It is easy to use the "examples" code as basis
for your own digital voltmeters, period counters, frequency counters, audio generators, and
so on.?

In the IDE you have selected Arduino Nano, of course, but are you sure you identified the correct COM port for the Raduino? Since nothing showed up indicating that it was that port on my system, I resorted to going to the System Hardware list, COM and LPT ports, and just seeing what showed up when I plugged the USB cable into the Raduino, then selected that port in the IDE program. I did my first upload maybe a week ago and had similar issues getting going, but it works great now!

Thanks to all the responders.
I found a hardware problem...mmm
The mini USB on the Raduino shows one pin bent back inside the casing.
Tried to salvage it with a dentist pick....
No joy.
Now I am salvaging a mini USB female plug from an old camera.
Some SMD soldering is in my future.
Otherwise a new Raduino...

Broken mini USB port on the left.
Salvaged, prosthetic mini USB port on the right.
Will post results...
