7277 Bitx >Bitx Today 12/2/18

I have my radio on that frequency.

Forgot to add : Call sign is k0mbt
73?

There is a strong broadcast signal on 7275 which is putting a fairly strong carrier on 7277.? Not good for weak signal work.?? Seems to me the calling frequency should be moved to someplace below 7200 and above 7175 to get away from the broadcast signals.? General class licensees can operate SSB starting on 7175.

I have had that same issue and would recommend 7180.

I will listen to 7180 but find it crowded on Sunday afternoon at times. 40 can be bad with AM Carriers. 7.285 is a fairly recognized qrp frequency. I had a 20m qso last Sunday on 14.285 They were in Florida about 1000 miles away. 20 of course is not friendly to those with Bitx40s.

Although technically US Generals can go as low as 7175. On LSB that will put one in violation of the rules.

I had a couple of QSOs on 7.177mhz looking for QRP. None of them was. On 7.277 there were only strong AM stations at least here in the Euro side. To be on the safe side a General should call at 7.178.
