[OT] Image resizing
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIt's built into Groups admin settings in the Features -> Photos section.? The setting is called "Max Size in Photos".? The default is no resizing.? I suspect it is set to something smaller. /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Managing-Attachments%2C-Files-and-Photos Groups has a limit of 10 GB of storage for "Premium" groups (at $220/year).? I suspect resizing was set to help keep us under that limit.? Not unreasonable.? Looks like we are at about 3 GB now of just photos, files, and attachments. ?- Bill KB3T On 2020-01-03 22:18, Arv Evans wrote:

Bill Thanks for the info.? It would seem that if we want to make very high resolution images available to group members we may need to store them on G-drive or something similar and publish the URL for the image location. Arv _-_ On Fri, Jan 3, 2020, 8:44 PM Bill <groups191227@...> wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýArv, That's not necessary, as they can simply be zipped and saved in the files section, like I already did, so we can keep all the information in one place. ?- Bill KB3T On 2020-01-04 01:40, Arv Evans wrote:

Hi,
Adding up the total files, photos and attachments shows that about 3.36 GB had been used up.? If the rest is used up, members could chip in yearly for more space, or a google drive could be set up.? But maybe the space will last a bit longer still? As I mentioned before, just reducing the jpeg quality setting can save a ton of space.? You can set it down to 25% quality and it still looks fine; and that setting will reduce the file size (and not the picture size at all) by 10x or more. 73, Mark. |
