BITX QSO Night, Sunday, August 13, 7pm Local Time, 7277 kHz in North America, 7177 kHz elsewhere

Join us as we make contacts from BITX40 to BITX40 on 7.277 MHz in 40 meters!

To participate, call CQ BITX at 7pm sharp, your local time, on Sunday. Repeat your CQ call on the quarter hour (every 15 minutes). It is helpful if you call CQ BITX with your name and location.? Repeat your CQ call and call sign a number of times.

This is a worldwide event starting at 7pm in each time zone. The band tends to improve as the night goes on, so please call CQ and monitor throughout the evening.?

Report your QSO's, discuss propagation, noise, signal reports, audio reports, antenna type, etc. in this thread.

This is an undirected, scheduled event.? The BITX QSO Night relies on you to call CQ BITX to initiate contacts with other stations, so warm up that final and transmit a few calls on Sunday night.? Talk to you then!

Would there be any interest in a adding a digital frequency or even a separate time for digital bitx to bitx contacts? I mostly run digital modes but I don't know if there would be enough interest to actually make contacts.?

I would love to get a Bitx to Bitx psk qso. I run mine with a NUE-PSK barefoot. I will be on 7.070 or the SSB freq this weekend.

I would be willing to do PSK this weekend as well. I will be on 7.070 Sunday evening but it will be a bit later when I get home from church. Probably 9pm Eastern or so. I will use Bitx in the CQ call.

I recommend that you post a BITX40 Digital Meet Up in a post format similar to this one, with the time, date and frequency.

I don't have digital working yet, so I can't join you.

I am new to the group and don't have a bitx but just finished the build of my mcHF. Is the Sunday night group just for bitx to bitx or are others welcomed?

All are welcome Don its not just Bitx we have some that come on with other radios to talk with us or to give us bitxers some qso's. It's all in good fun.

Got Kevin KN4AAG and Mike VA2NB so far.

I got nothing again tonight! Heard a few weak stations but not strong enough to work. Finally got the mag loop working and was looking forward to trying it for real. The good news is that the few weak signals I could hear seemed a bit stronger on it than on the hamstick dipole in the attic. The mag loop was in the living room BTW.

I heard someone fade in, mention something about their Icom then fade out as quick as they faded in. After that a few people tuning up but that's it so far.

Vince.
