contents of kit

 

my bitx40 kit has arrived. I have checked the contents against the list and there is a 0.1 uF cap (wire ends) which is not listed. yhere is also a smd cap listed which i think that i have identified.

what are these caps to be used for

please read the Wire Up entry on the menu of Hfsigs.com:

  • Solder the 0.1uF disc ceramic (marked as 104) between the yellow and violet wires on the tuning pot

    The cap helps? clean the noise? created by the wiper movement in the pot and the clean resistance vale is applied to the Arduino.

    The extra SMD cap could be for C107 (0.1 uf) which was found to be missing from some boards that were shipped.

    I just received mine the other day and I built it last night. ?I too saw the SMD And I believe it's probably a spare I don't know. Or maybe to include for the old VFO method.?

    I'm also new to this group so I'll be looking forward to sharing my experience with everyone.?
