BitX 40 issues

I have about run out of gas. I have tried everything I can think of. My BitX 40 will not work. I have tried everything I can think of with no real success and I am at a total loss as to where to go for help.

When my Mic and PTT are connected there is NO sound in the speaker in receive. When I push the PTT then I hear noise in the speaker. The currents do not match what they are supposed to read for receive vs transmit. When I disconnect my Mic and PTT then I have noise in the speaker but cannot discern any kind of intelligence signals at all.

I am at my wits end here.

On the plus side my Raduno does reflect what appears to be a frequency readout on the 40 meter band.? I have no Idea if this is accurate as I cannot receive any intelligence.
 

Hi,

Break up your trouble shooting (Simplify). Dis-Connect Xmit DC Connector and just get receiver going. Dis-connect mic and ptt.

Put the speaker connector directly to a speaker or headphones. Not a connector with switching connections.

So with tuning pot and function switch try getting the radio to tune. You should get noise and the "Birdie" about
7.200? Try to get a signal. Make sure your antenna is not shorted out.
