Wire Up

Hi All,?

I have the Non raduino version of the Bitx40 that I never took out of the box till the other day, I went to go wire up and unfortunately it seems the wire up on the website has been replaced for the new one. Does anybody have a copy of the old wire up image?

Cheers,

Ben

This came up a couple months ago, but I can't find that post. ?There is a file with the old wiring instructions up on hfsigs.com, but you need to know the complete URL of that file in order to find it. ?That schematic should be described and accessible from the main wire-up page on hfsigs.com ? Maybe send an email to them at hfsignals at gmail dot com and ask how to find the file. ? Or perhaps somebody in the group can find the old post.

But it's simple enough, the old wire-up diagram for the analog vfo is the same as the new one except for these changes

? ? If using the analog VFO then L4 must be stuffed into the main board, if using the Raduino then L4 must not be stuffed.?

? ? Don't hook up the Raduino (or anything else) to the 2 pin DDS connector on the main board.

? ? Instead use the 10k linear taper pot wired into the 3 pin TUNING1 connector on the main board.

Lots of discussion here about getting that analog VFO stable enough to use on the air, here's a sample: ?/g/BITX20/topic/4218594

Primary issue is heat, especially once you decide to start transmitting.

If you decide to upgrade to the Raduino, send email to hfsignals asking for their current price and how to pay. ?Last I saw, they'd ship one out for $25.
