Received VFO BITX40 before Christmas, tunes 7.000mHz to 7.190mHz after adjustment. ?KW107 SuperMatch shows about 7W
output with modulation. ?Use PC headset for mic/phones but also has speaker. ?Use RCA ?socket/plug and momentary
ON push button for PTT. ?Made a few QSOs but antenna is very poor.
Received DDS BITX40 after Christmas. ?After adjustment DDS tunes 6.9900mHz to 7.5006mHz. ?Set DDS at X.XXX2 for X.XXX0 mHz.
KW107 SuperMatch shows about 7W output with modulation. ?DDS needs to be tuned slowly or frequency takes off (up or down)
- reversing knob stops it. ?This the first DDS I have made and used, Know nothing about programming it. ?PC headset/speaker and
RCA PTT.
PSU is 13.8VDC Powertech - no portable op yet. ?All plastic enclosures - same for both.
First mod on both rigs is adding AGC as audio is a bit harsh but usable. ?Then to add CW.
Great experience and very worthwhile.
